Dr. Pounders is my PCP. I see him annually for a wellness check-up, as needed for illnesses, and I have a recurring telehealth appointment with him every three months for an rx refill, so I interact with him regularly. In addition to being an attentive listener and great physician, he is consistently courteous and personable. He always asks about my kids/family and remembers non-medical details from my last appointment (things going on at work, vacations, etc.). I suppose he might keep track of those things in notes and not necessarily be recalling them from memory, but even if that is the case, it’s fantastic that he takes the time to review those notes so that he can make his patients feel important. We occasionally have issues with Athena Health (the system ARFP uses for telehealth) and he is always quick to find a solution so we can carry out our appointment as needed and not cause any delays for the patients he has after me.
