Dr. Powderly has been working with me for a very long time. He is very caring and tries to help you to understand your illness. If you are looking for an oncology specialist, Dr Powderly is your guy!!

Stage IV patients are often told chemo-for-life, and when those chemo regimes are no longer working, they can lose hope. I feel so fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Powderly. It feels like he is on a mission, not just to treat cancer, but to cure cancer. I am a stage IV CRC patient, with inoperable mets. After I used up all my available chemotherapy options, I came to Dr. Powderly and Carolina BioOncology. I am 6 months into a phase I immunotherapy trial, and the tumors are stable with some slight shrinkage. I feel better than I have in years. I now realize that patients and oncologists should have regular discussions during the course of treatment about clinical trials. I am participating in the trial for myself, but the knowledge that this is research at work is amazing.

Dr. Powderly is highly trained in the latest cancer treatments and tailors them specifically to the patient. He is extremely compassionate and caring, taking as much time as the patient needs. He is excelllent at explaining progrnosis and treatmment options in detail so the patient gains a complete understanding. I highly recommend him for any cancer treatments.

I have completed weekly chemo for 6 months with Dr. Powderly and my recent PET scan for lung cancer showed no evidence of disease. He is an exceptional oncologist with the expertise and experience to diagnose andtreat cancer effectively. Anyone in the north Mecklenburg/charlotte area should at least consult with him before startingtreatment. His research dept. gains access to the most recent and promising drugs to help patients.

Dr. Powderly is most knowledgeable, helpful and will take time to answer all your questions. I have confidence in his judgement and should I question his suggestion, he will take the time to address my reservations. Because we have moved several times from Massachusetts to South Florida and states in between, I have had to find a new oncologist. My first oncologist I had in Charlotte, I always felt that I had to grab his coat tails before I had finished with my appointment. When you have cancer, you have questions and like your doctor to take the time to address your concerns.I highly recommend Dr. Powderly.

I'm just copleting my chemo, surgery, radiation and one year of herceptin for breast cancer with awesome success. The chemo totally shrunk the tumore to only scar tissue and prevented a mastectomy. Dr. Powderly has been vitally important throughout this process. My numerous visits have been productive with concrete soluntions to each problem related to chemo and follow up. The PA and other stafff have been extremely professional and caring.
