Dr. John Martin Prince, MD

I am writing this review to warn others about my deeply disappointing and unprofessional experience with Dr. John Prince at StatCare Farragut. I came to StatCare seeking help for serious breathing problems that have been getting worse over time. After completing a breathing test, Dr. Prince entered the room, and before I could even explain my symptoms or medical history, he immediately told me my issue was because I was “morbidly obese.” That statement was not only insulting and inaccurate, but it set the tone for the entire appointment. For context — I am not morbidly obese, I currently wear junior sizes, and I’ve lost over 80 pounds in the last few years. I’m extremely active, and my diet is very limited due to chronic nausea and vomiting. Instead of listening or showing compassion, Dr. Prince repeatedly focused on my weight, telling me that my “perception was off” if I didn’t think I ate that much and that I’d “have to walk to Cookeville to lose a pound.” He briefly mentioned… ordering a chest CT, echocardiogram, and RAST test, but immediately said they probably weren’t necessary because, in his words, my “real issue was obesity.” I left feeling humiliated, unheard, and completely dismissed. When I got home, I called StatCare on October 6th to request a transfer to a different doctor. It took multiple calls and days of waiting, and Dr. Prince himself delayed approving it until a supervisor finally overrode him on October 13th. After that, I found out that he had also changed my scheduled testing date from October 31st to December, further delaying care for no legitimate reason. Ironically, a CT scan ordered by my primary doctor just days later revealed a lung nodule, which is especially concerning given my family history of lung cancer and a genetic Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency diagnosis that puts me at higher risk for COPD. If Dr. Prince had simply listened, he would have known that my situation was serious and required prompt testing. His attitude was disrespectful, discriminatory, and medically negligent. No patient deserves to be spoken to or dismissed that way. I’ve since transferred to another provider, but this experience was so degrading that I felt compelled to share it publicly in hopes that others won’t have to go through the same treatment. If you’re seeking a pulmonologist who listens, treats you with respect, and takes your health seriously — I strongly recommend going somewhere else.

Dr. Prince is wonderful. He is very mannery, kind and totally involved with his patient's medical problems. I am well pleased with the care he has given me!

I had pneumonia, a terrible lung infection. I went to the ER, was immediately admitted, massive surgery, lost part of one lung. I’m grateful to be alive. Dr. Prince was one of 4 surgeons operating. It was so bad I woke up in ICU. Fast forward to follow-up Care. It’s been almost 2 years since this happened, I’ve seen Dr. Prince once , maybe twice, since leaving the hospital. I see his PAs Holly Byrd, Danielle Moat because that’s all I can get an appt with. I’m not given much consideration or concern because I’m younger and not in the hospital. I’ve had 2 cases of pneumonia SINCE the surgery. I do not currently have pneumonia , but I DONT want to ever go through this again, so I try to be proactive. I am considered well by their standards. It’s been 3 months, not even, since the last double pneumonia. Part of my lung was removed in surgery. I am, nor ever have been a smoker. I unfortunately have Chronic sinus infections, 2 sinus surgeries. I love my ENT, David Sexton. I have never been… treated with anything but respect and kindness from him and his staff. I will NOT see Dr. Prince or his PAs again by choice. It’s only been 3 mos since my last case of Pneumonia. My appt today with Danielle Moat, I was made to feel as if a person off the street faking problems. That’s not acceptable for ANY patient to be treated that way let alone someone with my history. NO ONE would chose what happened to me, But today I wasn’t SICK ENOUGH! The practice is StatCarePulmonary. I never coment poorly on Dr.s and really this is his pa Danielle Moat, but your PAs reflect on the Dr. You’re only at a Dr office to receive help. Not leave made to feel worse.
