Dr. John David Prologo, MD

After first consultation it took almost 7 weeks just to schedule a followup procedure. Just to schedule! During those 7 weeks I left multiple messages but never received a return call. They finally contacted me with a date for the procedure but I am going to another doctor. Too bad I wasted precious time with this office.

Dr. Prologo is wonderful and awesome. He is so knowledgeable. I have been all over and had pain for years. He is the only person that took the time and was truly able to help. He is doing cutting edge work that will change the lives of people in dying pain. He is upbeat and humble and so caring.

Dr. Prologo is a true gem! I have an extremely complex pain case, and he has worked tirelessly to figure it out. He is kind, compassionate and humble - everything you want in a physician. Other doctors have turned me away and told me I have to live with the pain, but he refused to give up on me. He will quickly gather a team of doctors to work on your case, if need be. He's a dream doctor. I can't recommend him enough. It would be amazing if all physicians were like Dr. Prologo. He's been a huge blessing to me and my family.

Dr. Prologo is by far one of the finest around. He will stop at nothing to help you. Odds may be against you, but if he is able...he will do all he can to make your pain better.

Office is impossible to work with. Communication is poor at best. I’ve had several procedures and am getting worse instead of better. Going to a different Dr next week.

I could not have chosen a more unconcerned group of people for the excruciating anal nerve pain that I suffer with.

Dr. Prologo performed cryoblation on the tibial nerve to my right foot which was intended to relieve the chronic pain I experienced in the ball of my foot. Unfortunately, the procedure did not produce the results I had hoped for and now I am experiencing much worse pain and I am on multiple pain medications every day. There are several cautionary comments I share with anyone contemplating Dr. Prologo’s help for chronic pain: --In every meeting Dr. Prologo was always supremely positive and confident that his procedure would relieve the pain I experienced in my foot and that I could expect to walk out of the procedure pain free, which did not happen. --The “practice” run for the procedure (using an anesthetic drug to mimic the cryoblation) did not go well but Dr. Prologo expressed confidence that the cryoblation procedure result would be positive. He explained why he felt this way, but his explanation went over my head and I accepted his optimism without more questions. --… Dr. Prologo told me in our first meeting that he did not have a “lot” of experience with cryoblation targeting the feet. However, in my pre-op meeting, after I was gowned up, he mentioned that he had never done this exact procedure before. By then I was so focused on the relief he optimistically assured me I would have that I never considered calling the procedure off. My comments are these: --If you get new information in a pre-op meeting, think hard about whether this is the right thing to do without additional consideration. --Be sure to ask what the worst case scenario could be so you can better judge if it is worth the risk. I would challenge you to be more questioning than I was. --While anyone should have faith in their doctor and gain comfort in his or her confidence in their ability; never hesitate to ask lots of questions. Do not be shy about being skeptical and always consider that there is a possibility that the outcome may be worse than what you are living with currently. --Remember the adage “If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true”. I know I was responsible for my decisions about my medical care, however, it has been disappointing that despite outreach to Dr. Prologo following my procedure about the amount of pain I was experiencing, he has shown no interest in my condition since the first two calls I made to him following the surgery. Knowing that my procedure was his “first ever” of its kind, one might think Dr. Prologo would be interested to determine how I might have been better served and how others might be served in the future.

I traveled from Ohio to Atlanta and was met with man, whose big smile and compassionate nature, made me feel understood and cared for as if I were his only patient. He took more time than any doctor I've had; he actually called by phone to answer a concern I had and answered a bunch of questions I emailed him when I got home ---and he responded the same day! He certainly went the extra mile! As a bonus, his staff was awesome, too!
