Dr Rathbun is a very caring practitioner who places his patients first. Having worked in the medical profession and being a patient of Dr Rathbun for over 3 years, I have had the opportunity to observe the fact that he is a caring humanitarian, and not just rushing patients through to profit monetarily. After moving to the South Strand area from NY almost 4 years ago, I had been to at least 3 prior physicians and had always felt rushed, easily dismissed, and also felt that I was not being listened to or taken seriously. I had gotten to the point of using Doctors Care Urgent Center for my medical needs, and through that center I was fortunate enough to have one of their RN’s recommend Dr Rathbun. Dr. Rathbun is a great doctor that takes time to listen to what your issues are and orders the proper tests to get to the root of your problem.

He is a fabulous doctor and he spends as much time as you need to discuss your concerns/issues. The staff is great and there is never a problem getting a prompt follow up visit if needed.

Not only did this doctor miss my renal cell cancer diagnosis, he continued to mishandle my care until I was placed on Hospice... He is like most doctors today apathetic and his inept... Visit this doctor at your expense... Yes he is nice, yes he has a great bed side manner, he just is a unskilled, Average grade medical student practicing medicine... And his staff is the most unfriendly I've ever met....

I LOVE THIS MAN!!! I worked for Dr. Rathbun for 4 years and as an employer he was the greatest. I watched him with his patients and employees, he gives his entire heart to both. Dr. Rathbun is one of the few doctors that I have known that TRULY care about the health and emotional well being of his patients and staff. I have relocated to a different state and truly miss him. He is a brilliant doctor and a great friend.

I would love to be able to give this physician a better review than this. My initial experience was good; however, it didn't last. On at least two occasions I showed up for appointments that ended up being my family members. On one occasion we were both told that neither of us had an appointment. I still have the appointment card they wrote for me. Staff did manage to call and provide me information from test results. Unfortunately, they were test results for my family member, and NOT me. When called to ask why I had not paid the residual balance after insurance, I told them my issues, and if they submitted my results WITH my test results, I would gladly pay the balance. As if this wasn't bad enough, I waited at least 30 - 60 minutes to get into a room. Long waits are fine I guess at times for physicians, but when you see drug reps and a big ole Italian lunch delivery come in while you wait, I'd come back later that week. I couldn't even tell you how long the wait was from… when I finally got to the room. The doctor seems like a nice enough person; however, the incompetence of his staff, and what could only be described as disorganization will keep me away, and I will do what I can to get my other family members AWAY from these people.
