Summary
Dr. John Rider is a board certified pediatrician. He graduated with a BA in biology from Canisius College in Buffalo NY. He received his MD degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and did his pediatric training at Buffalo Children’s Hospital. Dr. Rider spent two years in the US Navy as a staff pediatrician. He joined Medical Park Pediatrics here in Columbia, S.C. and practiced general pediatrics for 33 years until his retirement in March 2008. He has been working part time in our Irmo office since May 2008. He and his wife, Maribeth, have four children and eight grandchildren. In addition to enjoying the grandchildren he spends time sailing, skiing, and traveling.
