Dr. John Byron Riser, MD

The staff was unprofessional and rude. Patient treatment was not as expected at all.

I saw this doctor for a period of several years in the 2000's until 2009. Recently, I have had some of the same issues I had in the past return so I called the office to make an appointment since I expected Dr. John Riser to be familiar with my medical history. However, I called three times and was transferred by the receptionist each time to the "new patient department" since I had not been seen by Dr. John Riser in nine years. Each time, I just received a voice mail message stating to leave my call back information, which I did - three times. On the FOURTH day, I told this receptionist I did not want to be transferred to another department to only leave another voice mail that will not be returned. Then this receptionist takes an attitude with me and tells me that the new patient department would only tell me I MUST be referred by a doctor - even though my insurance does NOT require a referral AND I have seen him for years in the past. I told her I wanted to return to John Riser… because he is familiar with my medical history and the symptoms from which I am again suffering. This RECEPTIONIST says "Well they likely don't have those records anyway since they are ten years old." What ignorance and incompetence! The other doctors I have seen regularly for the past TWENTY YEARS have ALL my records or the vital information from those records catalogued in a database that I see when I log in to my patient portal. BEWARE!! This office and doctor are UNPROFESSIONAL AND INCOMPETENT and VERY ARROGANT AND RUDE!!

I had severe head trauma with multiple skull fractures due to a bad fall. Dr. John Riser was thorough and highly skilled at assessing my condition. He listened and tested and made a solid diagnosis. I’m getting better every day. Thanks Doc.

Dr John is great but I am very disappointed in the nurses. Called Monday and left mess to call me needed a form filled out. Called again Tuesday afternoon after no return phone call. Here is is Wednesday evening and still no call. Show me enough respect to at least return my call even if they dont want to fill out forrn left me at least know something. A Doctor that is good doesn't do any good if he has a horrible staff. A Doctor can only be as good as his staff.

I was extremely pleased with my appointment with Dr. John Riser. I will continue to use him as my neurologist.

Dr Riser has been my Neurologist for 12 years and has treated my seizures with professionally, effectively, efficiently, accurately and personally with care, kindness and courtesy that you would expect from a great medical doctor. I recommend him to one and all..

I could not be more pleased with both Dr's Riser and the entire staff they employee. Friendly, prompt and kind. Very mindful of your time.

Dr. Riser is super nice and very concerned. His staff however is a total put off. They are beyond rude and this fact made me rethink ever visiting this office again.
