Dr. John M Roberts

I have written good and bad reviews as needed and I have seen Dr Roberts for over 5 yrs and known him and his office staff as nothing but honest and trustworthy. In fact, I went to high school with him and he was an honest person even then. We moved to Fl and I have tried to find a trustworthy dentist and in 5 yrs have been unable. For awhile I would see Dr Roberts while visting family in Wichita but for emergency reasons tried again to find a dentist we trust, not one we like but one we can trust and it has been terrible so again my son will be having his teeth cleaned in Wichita by Dr Roberts while we visit family. I've come to really appreciate being able to trust a dentist. I filed a complaint with ins on one dentist after he tried saying I needed 7 crowns and my son has pre gingivitis even though 6 mts earlier neither of those were true with a different dentist, now my son, 15 is pestering me to see Dr Roberts because he trusts him, a teenager excited to see a dentist, that… tells you something. I never had problems with billing or the office staff, in fact they were wonderful, but even so, I now know the value of being able to trust the doctor even if you have some problems with office staff. I'd rather deal with billing issues than infections and broken temporary crowns and root canals not being done because the doctor's dog needs picked up which I've dealt with here in Fl. Not being able to trust your dentist with your teeth and your health is scary, so just know Dr Roberts is a trustworthy dentist and that is invaluable.

Better Options for Dentistry - I went to have work done for my daughter and went to schedule a follow up appointment. I was told at the time of the appointment the total out of pocket cost would be around $200 after insurance. No problem. We went back for the follow up and low and behold the total jumped to over $550. This is not the proper way to treat your customers and do not recommend. If you do see these folks, I would get in writing what you are due after insurance or they will come back with a higher amount knowing you are stuck paying the bill. Bad Business model.

I'm a new patient and at my fist appointment, John did the cleaning himself--very odd! Usually a hygienist will do the cleaning! He painfully scraped my teeth harder than I've ever had them scraped before by any other dental hygienist! The next day I had severe pain in all of my teeth, especially on one of my molars! I went back to have it checked and he said it might be cracked! He gave me antibiotics but it didn't help! I went back a third time and he said it may be cracked and may need extraction and immediately asked that I should plan for a replacement molar! VERY VERY FISHY! I honestly think that he purposely hurt my teeth! It's too much o a coincidence that suddenly I'm having dental issues of this magnitude!!!
