Exceptionally thorough..excellent bedside manner..wonderful with checking in on us when we haven't had a recent appointment.

Dr. Routes is extremely arrogant, and he appears to have no interest in your symptoms, or issues whatsoever. He diagnosis and treats strictly based on lab values, and any symptom that does not fall into his "recognized" norm, is discounted, ignored, or blamed on the patient.

Dr. Routes is the Chief of Immunology Childrens Hospital in WI, they use a team approach to diagnosis and treatment which is good. What's not so good is that he doesn't really care about the patient or the sypmtoms that they are having. If he doesn't see certain numbers on a lab test, even if you are far below the average, he tells you that you just aren't that bad and don't need any treatment. On my follow up appointment (requsted by him) it was suggested to me that all of my symptoms were because of depression. I found this extremely insulting. After this appointment I spoke with other current patients of his whom are very dissatisfied with the treatment they have been receiving. Unfortunately we live in an area with only a couple of choices in immunologists.
