Dr. John Wallis Rusher, MD

Very condescending. After 17 years of dealing with a child with ibs, I was belittled for not bringing in food diaries!!! We had been down that route for many many years and were way beyond food diaries. Total waste of a visit.

Dr. Rusher has been my childrens' pediatrician since 2005 and we would not consider going elsewhere. He is thorough and caring. He will refer out as needed and is ready to listen to parents and children. He shows respect to all and does not speak down to adults nor children. He has followed up personally by phone regarding medication as well as to ensure that medical conditions are improving. Although, there is sometimes a wait at the office, that is only because he treats each patient as an individual and is thorough. Thanks for being a great doctor!

He was the rudest doctor i have EVER met! I will not be seeing him again!!

Dr. Rusher is part of larger practice, and often a large office does not provide the best service. Dr. Rusher is an exception. He may seem a little rough around the edges at first (a complaint of some), but he is extremely intelligent and knows the best ways to manage both of my kids medical needs. He also is more personable once you get to know him. At request him for sick visits (if he is in the office, I am always able to see him). When I bring in one of kids, he always asked how the other one is doing. I strongly recommend him if you live in the North Raleigh area.

Dr. Rusher came to us as the on-call doctor for our new child. While we did not care for the rough manner in which he handled our child, he seemed to examine her thoroughly. A few months later, we have found that he missed not one diagnosis, but also failed to test for a possible diagnosis on something that he did note but needed to be screened for by a certain age(thankfully was ok). In seeking an explanation, he was more concerned with the legal side of things than actually providing care for her. Maybe be better with older kids, but wish we would have had any other doctor in this practice for our baby.

This person was the on call Dr. from Ral. Peds. at Rex when our newborn came. Too bad for us. He lacked personality, didn't explain anything during his 5 minute visit, and it was obvious by his demeanor that he could have cared less about our baby. He was there for his paycheck.
