Dr. John Richard Sarcar, MD

Between my daughter and I we have seen Dr. Sarcar since 2017. We have now left him and should have a long time ago. He was amazing we thought. Down to earth really understood and cared. He don’t. I have many reasons and ask u to beware. He always has an excuse why he don’t call u back even if u were in the ER due to ur meds he prescribed. He then berates you for being upset with him. When he does finally see you does he take into account what you have been through? No instead doesn’t even listen to everything and then sends you out the door with the same medication script the ER took you off of because you may have Stephan Johnson’s Syndome to it. If you have family members that see him as well or friends be aware that you and your session will be talked about in their sessions! So much for patient Dr confidentiality! Then you leave him to see a new psychiatrist u request your information to pass onto the new Dr. you fill out the form to release your history he never sends it. You call… multiple times to follow up and are given excuses. He won’t send it because how dare you leave. It is our history and by law it’s mine not his. I signed a release yet nothing. So our new Drs have no history we have to tell them everything thanks to this man. We can’t let our drs see the steps over the last 3yrs we took. Why? Is it your afraid what they may find out or see? I don’t really care that information is about us, our lives. I thought you were supposed to help your patients not hurt them. And withholding medical information and diagnosis does not help either of us nor does breaching patient Dr confidentiality! Need more information? There are some out there that just hand over pills. I’ve been there. He takes the time to listen and really help. I think he is Great!

I spent years as a master degree therapist and later a family lawyer. I have worked professionally with numerous psychiatrists and psychologists in Canada and in Michigan and Florida. Dr Sarcar is undoubtably the best therapist I have ever encountered. I went to him when encountered problems I could not fix myself. He is kind without being insincere. He is knowledgeable in many different therapeutic techniques. He also is very careful in prescribing fix it meds. He appears to have a lot of knowledge re pharmaceuticals and has knowledge of interactions and actually goes over you meds before giving a prescription. Bottom line : very good and very professional without being cold or overly kind. When he says something or suggests something you trust what comes out of his mouth. I never leave without something to teflect upon and always feel hopeful.

My son was under Dr Sarcar's care for 8 years as a troubled bi-polar youth. He only stopped seeing him due to moving out of state. Dr is a no nonsense kind of guy, will not paint pretty rainbows to appease his clients. He was honest and forth right. Explaining diagnosis, treatments, appointments and such. I personally recommend him to others.

This guy is a snake. I brought my son to him for help to boost his self esteem and get him on track and he actually called my son names in front of me. Blatantly laughing at some of his ideas and saying horrible things to him. My insurance also did not cover all of the visit so wanted to pay over time due to other bills that I had. He went without my permission and charged my Credit card. I would NOT take your child there ever again. Horrible experience and person to talk like that to someone.

I am a 32 year old male. I've been seeing psychiatrist for 15 years. I never stayed with one for more than 2 months because I always felt like there was no progress. I let my primary care provide me with depressions anxiety ADHD meds. Now Sarcar listens to and get me. It's wonderful to have support. Sometimes sessions which are for 30 minutes end up getting cut down to 10-15 minutes dues to his busy schedule.
