Dr. John Lance Saunders, MD

I saw Dr Saunders at Drs Care in Parkridge. He’s one of the most knowledgeable, cordial Drs I have ever seen. Highly recommend him

I went to see Dr. Saunders to get a referral for arthritis and glaucoma. A PCP does not manage diseases like this, they just refer a patient to a specialist that does manage these diseases. Dr. Saunders told me that he would give the referrals, but that he would not be my PCP. I thought it was strange, my insurance website (bluecross) lists him as a general practitioner. It has been over a week and I've called my insurance twice, Dr. Saunders still has not submitted the referrals to my insurance company. I've called Dr. Saunders office asking about the referrals. Apparently his office thinks the referral I need is a piece of paper introducing me to these specialists, and scheduling an appointment with them. I tried explaining to his staff that what I need is a form submitted to my insurance company. They refuse to listen, become almost adversarial, even a little belligerent. They are unable to comprehend that I don't need help making an appointment, just that they take 15… minutes and submit a form to my insurance company. Isn't this how all insurance companies work? So, I can't recommend going to see Dr. Saunders. His office is poorly run, he seems a little strange.
