John Savukinas grew up in Maryland and received his undergraduate education at Duquesne University.  After graduating from The University of Maryland School of Dentistry, he performed his residency at The Prince George’s Hospital Center.
Dr. Savukinas’s passion for dentistry has continued to grow over his nearly twenty years of dental practice. He has been a faculty member at The University of Maryland School of Dentistry since 1994, and performs emergency pallative care for patients at Shady Grove Hospital and the Shady Grove Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
As part of his commitment to the community, Dr. Savukinas also volunteers at annual oral cancer screenings at the Shady Grove Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Â He spent a week in Thailand offering his dental services as part of a program conducted by Smiles on Wings, a non-profit humanitarian organization that provides dental and medical care to underpriveleged populations.
