Did not call back numerous times when I called in and asked to have him get back to me...it's urgent, and it was! I had to go to the ER and eventually have surgery cancelled the following day because of sacral fractures. It was a cancer surgery so it was a serious situation. After the surgery, I went for a followup and asked for Percocet when asked what I needed. He gave me some and didn't even suggest a followup on my undiagnosed sacral fractures. He had said it was a muscle strain. AFter 2 mths. it seems it would have been appropriate to get my lower back checked and not assume it was just a muscle strain. It was then diagnosed after a MRI suggested by a spine dr. who was referred by my rheumatologist. After all, my red flags. were RA, radiation treatment, osteoporosis, and long term steroid use. Clearly I was at risk and he continued to overlook my conditions. Also not quick to get back lab work. Also never mentioned in all these years that I have high cholesterol which I… found out reading my oncologist report. Also I have degenerative osteoporosis which my ER catscan discovered. He never mentioned this at the post op visit and I should be taking something for both these condition. Can be nice but I think he is not being vigilent and careful with patients like me who have multiple health issues. So I am switching to another internist who has solid references and more stars on this website too!!
