Dr. John William Schaberg, MD

I was very pleased with Dr Schaberg. He worked with me until we found a solution to my issues and was very thorough.

Dr Schaberg did the test without asking any questions or asking if I had been eating gluten. I had been off gluten and the test is not accurate unless you have been eating gluten. After a year, the acid reducing had not worked and he recommended surgery. I stopped the drugs and eating gluten. The acid reflux and indigestion are gone.

Dr. Schberg is the best. I can talk to him and he does care about his patiens. Unfortunely, he has so many patients that it is impossible to spend 45/60 minutes with each patient. As I fore stated he does care. I suggest to all patients let your provider know how you feels and your concerns. Never go away unsatisfied with your service. This is not a free clinic, and if it was you deserve the best of serves. Not making excuses but it is the nurses job to advocate for the patient. Please let them know as while how you feel. Don't every leave a services not knowing your prognosis. Never allows a doctor just prescribe medications that you don't feel comfortable with. Let them know what you have tried and whether it work. They only know what you tell them and even after they has gone to school for many years they are still practicing and learning. Somtime you needed to get on the internet and research your symptoms before going to your appointment take an acting part in your care. It ok to… take notes and discuss them with your doctor He is a gastroenterology he only know what you tell him. Oh by the ways, sometimes providers can not prescribe some medicines because of your pre- existing illnesses.

Dr. Schaberg is not patient friendly. He shared very little information with my spouse after my procedure. Had to find another doctor.

His aloofness is matched only by his incompetence. I began seeing Dr. Schaberg because of severe upper and lower gi distress and rapid weight loss. On my follow-up visit, my blood pressure was near stroke range and I had lost another 20lbs since the initial visit. He proceeded to ask me 3 questions, pressed briefly on my stomach, and recommended I continue his previous treatment plan of an anti-spasmodics and "living with the problem." This guy shouldn't be licensed to treat animals let alone human beings.

Usually I'm not very critical of doctors. I understand that they are busy and that they can't be right 100% of the time--they are human after all. However, Dr. Schaberg displayed complete disinterest in my situation. I have not been able to work in over a month and he doesn't seem to care that I'm in pain. After describing excruciating pain to him (it keeps me from working at all), he suggested Tylenol. Like I hadn't tried that before I scheduled the appointment to have the joyful experience of a colonoscopy. He doesn't make eye contact, avoids most questions, and spends less than 5 minutes with me in my appointments. This wasn't just a "bad day" for him, either, I've had 5 appointments with the man in the last 6 weeks--but that's just because I bugged the nurse almost daily to work me in. Terrible doctor.

Dr Schaberg is the best GI doctor that I have been to. He spent extra time with me and was compassionate regarding my fears and concerns. Very positive experience

My teenage daughter was referred to Dr. Schaberg. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. He spent as little time with her/us as possible, even though my teenager was young and embarrassed about the nature of her health problem.He tossed a couple of medications and tests her way, carelessly gave her a "trash-can diagnosis," and washed his hands of her.Fortunately, two other excellent doctors have healed her. This doctor is very bright, extremely educated, but makes you feel worse after the appointment than before you come in.

He never followed up after he said he would. Was in a big hurry to go home, and was not interested in my concerns.

I felt like a number instead of a patient. No time spent on my history which ultimately led to an incorrect diagnosis. Also didn't remember doing my procedure the following day. If you read these...take time with your patients. You seem like you could care.
