Dr. John David Schaefer, MD

My husband had to go to the Canton Potsdam ER for a horrible nose bleed. Was told to call the local ENT on Friday to remove the packing. Well the two kENTs in this area both are off on Fridays. (Don’t get it). Primary wouldn’t see him, Urgent Care said they wouldn’t see him keep packing for 72 hrs. ER said bring him back for blood work and called in antibiotics (didn’t go back) Thank God my daughter recommend Dr Schaefer. Even though it was Dr Schaefer day to perform operations he got to see my husband. Packing was removed which elevated his pain and his nose was cauterized. Worth the hour drive each way to get the world class service this Doctor gives. Caring and understanding a much needed asset in health care which he gives. Also many thanks to Jenna , Dr Schaefer assistant who was pleasant and understanding with my panic calls to get my husband seen.

I tried to do the phone survey, but wasn't able too. Dr.Schaefer is easily the best doctor I've ever been too. He knew what was going on with me immediately. He not only helped me with my issue, he is extremely nice and absolutely hilarious. Highly recommended

Just as I remember him from 22yrs ago ð???

Dr. Schaefer diagnosed and treated me for laryngeal cancer. I can still talk, have only mild discomfort at times, and have been in remission for nearly two years. I feel genuine care and concern about all issues I discuss with this DR. and would highly recommend him to anyone. Simply put, I would describe him as an exceptional Dr. with an exceptional ability.
