Dr. John Jefferson Seaberg, MD

I had a tummy tuck a few years ago, before the tummy tuck I had 2 c sections where I had small incisions down low, Dr Seaborg cut me from hip bone to hip bone he also made a slit down straight to my pelvic area which he said was so I didn’t have to have the drainage tubes but never asked me if I wanted him to use a different method, now I feel like my stomach muscles are compromised and it looks terrible aesthetically.

If I could not leave a star I would but this requires me to pick at least one star. Absolute worst bedside I’ve ever seen and I am a nurse so I’ve seen a lot of doctors. He suggested my lipoma is just “fat” and that I should just “will myself to think of something else”. Probably the worst advice and unsupportive nature I’ve seen on top of the fact that I was already worried. Would never want to go there again and suggest everyone to think twice before doing so. Unless you like rude doctors, that is.

I am 1- year out from reconstruction surgery following bilateral mastectomies performed by a different surgeon/group. Being diagnosed with breast cancer in fall 2016, I was stuck in the political fall-out of MU gobbling up hospitals and the exodus of surgeons from Boone Hospital. I was told I had to hurry and get a surgeon. I had no names and no idea how to deal with all of this. Unfortunately, the only name I heard was with MU. No other options. Running out of time, I went through it. NO video of surgical procedure beforehand and no clear education about the procedure. A bad experience. Now on the other side and no one rushing me, I decided to get a second consultation to find out if issues I was fighting were really normal or if Dr. Seaberg would have done everything differently. Dr. Seaberg is a quiet man but has a wry sense of humor. He listened, patiently, to every question and concern I had. When done, he calmed my fears - said my reconstruction was really well done and he would… have gone the same route with my body type. He explained that the issues I was fighting are common aspects of reconstruction- and therefore were not things that had been ‘botched’. He explained that I am the type of woman who is more sensitive and affected by the aspects of reconstruction. I can’t unring a bell and never have had the reconstruction but the comfort and peace of mind I received from Dr. Seaberg and his nurse, Colleen, changed my life. Dr. Seaberg showed me several surgical ‘tweaks’ he could do to improve things a bit more aesthetically, but pushed nothing and left it up to me. The greatest thing he did at the end was to have Colleen show me images of his patients with my body type and situation who had completed their reconstruction. I was so relieved to see that I wasn’t a freak, and I looked like them! No one had helped me like this before. Knowing that if I would have known Dr.Seaberg was available for reconstruction when I was diagnosed, I would absolutely have chosen him - if I had made an informed decision. Thank God he insists that women watch videos on the procedure and are informed before surgery. I wasn’t given that info - I would not have had reconstruction if I had been so well educated. I would have stopped at bilateral mastectomies. But had I still chosen reconstruction after the consultation, he would have been my choice.

If I could give this review zero stars, I would. The level of disrespect and rudeness I experienced during my consultation with Dr. Seaberg was unbelievable. From making me feel extremely unwelcomed to asking me why my last name wasn't Jones, I couldn't believe I was interacting with a so-called professional. Initially, I thought nothing of his poor racial "joke" regarding my last name but that coupled with his extremely condescending tone and cold manner brought me to deem him a disgusting racist. Because I was so offended, I couldn't even complete my consultation. I told him about his immense lack of social skills, his offensive mannerisms, and his inappropriate racial joke in hopes that he'll go out of his way to make future patients of color feel a lot more comfortable than I did. If possible, I advise non-white individuals to seek another surgeon at all costs. We're clearly not welcomed at his office and he's made that very clear to me. Yes, he has great reviews but let's look at… the individuals writing them. I wouldn't trust this man to cut an apple for me let alone into my chest. On the bright side, he's probably a great surgeon though. It's just a shame that such a great talent had to be wasted on an individual like himself.

Dr Seaberg is the most unprofessional Doctor I've ever met. If you want good medical care from a doctor who cares and doesn't talk to you like you're a big hassle for him/her, I suggest avoiding Dr. Seaberg. I don't consider someone who speaks to me like he did to be "one of the best" in his field. More like the worst. I would never speak to one of my customers the way he spoke to me. You can do better!

Avoid this doctor. To sum him up: condescending, rude, bully, self-contradictory, makes assumptions that are incorrect and then holds onto them like a dog with a bone. You can find someone better.

Very poor bedside manner. When i asked if I could shower, post opt 5 days, he replied,"I am really getting tired of people asking if they can shower, I don't know why people are so fixated on going and a day without showering." Actually it had been 5 days and I am a rule follower. I wasn't challenging him. I wanted to know. Then he said I could shower but if I had disasterous results than you know what it's from. My mouth was hung open. Then he unwrapped my incision and he said," looks like you didn't like my dressings?!" The ace bandaged was rubbing and he forgot that he told me to not use it. Then he asked me if I was still taking pain medicine. I told Him yes I was, he then commented how weird that was because most people don't need it. I am not most people. Most people don't have fibromyalgia and feel like a truck has hit them Either.

I recently had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Seaberg and I cannot begin to explain how happy I am with the results! I have always wanted larger breasts but was always scared of actually getting the procedure done. During the initial free consult with Dr. Seaberg, he answered all of my questions and gave me his recommendation on what type of implant (saline vs. silicone) and profile (high, moderate, or low) would look best for my body frame. I have already recommended Dr. Seaberg to people I know and will continue to do so! His professionalism made the entire process enjoyable and put me at ease. It has been a little more than a month since my procedure, and the results are more than I could have ever hoped for. My breasts are now proportional to my body and I feel so much more feminine and comfortable in my skin. This experience has changed my life forever, and I am forever grateful to Dr. Seaberg for his wonderful work!

I had my breast done by Dr. Seaburg over five years ago. My "girls" turned five in December! I celebrate their birthday with a new bra every year (hee hee)! I had am amazing experience with Dr. Seaburg. I was 21 when I had my breast augmentation and looked in Kansas City as well but I was much more impressed and comfortable with Dr. Seaburg who practices out of Columbia, MO. He was professional, honest, and supportive every step of the way. I was pretty sore for the first week and then I started feeling much better. I was back to the gym and to work within a week and a half of my surgery. My breasts looked amazing and five years later they still do! People still aren't sure if they're mine or not which I love. As a woman, having a breast augmentation is a big decision, and a scary process as we weigh the possible outcomes. But I look back and don't regret my decision one bit because the outcome was exactly what I was hoping for: a great experience, amazing breasts, and zero… complications! Good luck to all you ladies. You won't be sorry if you choose Dr. Seaburg for your augmentation.....he's amazing!!

I went to Dr. Seaberg for a breast reduction. I was highly nervous about getting this procedure and having done it, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Dr. Seaberg and his staff are so wonderful. I had no trouble getting a consultation and even saw him a 2nd time before the procedure. The procedure went great and I couldn't be more pleased with my new breasts! Dr. Seaberg truly is an artist! Don't hesitate to set up a consultation. I wholeheartedly trust Dr. Seaberg.
