Dr. John Patrick Sheehan, MD

My wife had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and a month and a half later she was up and down and sideways. One minute she was great then she felt so tired, or nauseous, she would need to lie down. She visited Dr. Sheehan at the NCIDE approx a month and a half ago. He spent a good bit of the visit simply asking questions and taking notes. He performed a brief physical exam and that was it. He also changed her meds from what her previous physician had prescribed and it has made a tremendous improvement in both our lives.?? She feels so much better and she has much more energy she’s not experiencing those wide mood changes brought on by feeling so sick. When she’s feeling good everybody in the family feels better knowing that she’s not just “enduring,” for our sakes but is genuinely feeling good and that makes a happy family. Thank you Dr. Sheehan Thank you Dr. Sheehan.

Took the time I needed to understand. It's a shame he has bills to pay unlike physicians who are entwined in huge conglomerates that get their promised paycheck. When there is economic distress in the big corporate facility it's not the physician but some other distant office that is the evil one. Personally I prefer a physician that does not have a daily quota to meet.

I "used to" be a patient of Dr. Sheehan's years ago, but was with him only 2 years. I agree/confirm with the other reviews that he is a money grubber. His "money handler" at that time named Madonna, didn't send the insurance in correct just about every time & she would always ask me for a ridiculous amount of money even though my insurance would've paid it. The ladies who drew my blood would have sticky notes on my file because of an outstanding balance. Dr. Sheehan also did not care when I had gained 44 pounds in the 2 years I was on the insulin pump. I had financial issues & had to cancel/reschedule my appts a couple times & THAT was a cardinal sin. The last time, I got nasty with whoever I was speaking with on the phone because she just had no empathy to the fact that I had NO money for my payment. Shortly after, I received a letter from Dr. Sheehan saying he could no longer be my doctor because I "broke my contract". He is a terrible doctor as well as his worthless staff. DO NOT… RECOMMEND!

An absolute money grubber. Found his knowledge and neatness to be attractive but quickly saw how it was all about the money. And the front desk woman (Barb) was the worst in the business - a nasty, uncaring, impolite wretch of a lady. No way to treat patients. Uncaring and downright insulting. How do they get away with it? The woman who drew blood was nice, I would recommend her.

I have been an acquaintance of Dr. Sheehan's for many years and for the longest time I considered him a five star doctor. I've enjoyed his conversation and I liked the staff, including Barb at the desk. You will see concerns in online reviews about his terrible staff, and in the past I never experienced that. They were always very nice to me. But having a medical emergency and changing healthcare plans because of an unexpected job change quickly exposed Sheehan's true nature, and sad to say it turns out that the all warnings about the staff, and of his money nature, were for a good reason. Because John Patrick Sheehan wasn't going to get the usual amount of money through the old healthcare, he refused to cooperate with the pharmacy and even allowed a prescription to run out, knowing the immediate health consequences. A followup call to the office confirmed this with Barb, and that's where her true nature also became apparent - she was no longer the nice friendly lady from before, and… when I explained the immediate medical concern I was going through, she actually laughed me off and couldn't get me off the phone fast enough! If you really want to know more about this practice, google "John Patrick Sheehan" and "Pharmaceutical Company Payments" to find a medical industry site that will show the staggering amount of big pharm payments he receives. To think I recommended this man to people over the years and had other friends and family move over to his practice. No more! I'm still shocked, because he genuinely seemed like a good Irish fellow with a clean office. But no. He is not here to help, and his staff are equally unsympathetic. To think of how much he used to like keeping up with all the Cleveland area doctor gossip - well, this one's for you, John.

Be careful, He might fire you as a patient

Very thorough and engaged. Old school kind of doctor who took time with us. Able to have all tests right there including ultra sound that he took the time to go over in great detail with my husband. Staff was just okay.
