Dr. Shega offers a wide variety of dermatological services, including skin cancer screenings and treatment, medical treatments for acne/psoriasis, and cosmetic procedures. His staff is friendly and professional. As I’ve gotten older, it turns out I have sensitive skin. Dr. Shega is easy to talk to, and has handled all of my skin issues with professionalism and kindness. I have total confidence that he will handle all of my future skin issues the same way. I highly recommend Dr. Shega for all of your skin care needs.

I went to Dr. Shega 10 years ago to get my bikini area done after suffering intense pain and incompetence of electrolysis. He made me feel totally comfortable and I ended up having hair removal done in other areas (which has stayed gone to this day) as well as recently having fractionated CO2 laser to tighten skin on my neck, hands and now face damaged after years of sun damage. I've spent hundreds of dollars on other laser "promises" from plastic surgeons that did nothing to tighten my problem areas and were extremely painful. Dr. Shega is professional, compassionate and considerate of your personal finances and does the most effective treatment for the least amount of money. This is very important to me, a single mom, since I am on a tight budget. I've referred him to friends and he's done an excellent job every time. Definitely a 20 on a scale of 1 - 10!

I have been seeing Dr. Shega for some time now for a rash that was caused by alergic reaction to medication. Dr. Shega and his staff are among the best and kindest that I know.

It is very unlikely to find a medical specialist, let alone a dermatologist with excellent credentials and years of experience like Dr. John F. Shega, who will accept same day office visits. Had a cyst on my back which should have been removed years ago. It started to look and feel like a bruise and began discharging. It was the Friday before a holiday weekend (Presidents' Day), and I highly doubted that I could find someone to see me anytime soon. Found his website, www.dermmd.com, called his office 1st thing that morning and got to visit him 2 hours later. Thank God I did so, because that cyst had to be removed asap due to infection. Had I waited even a few days longer, might have ended up in the hospital instead. Dr. Shega immediately prescribed for me antibiotics, then he removed it the following day, which happened to be Saturday and a holiday weekend. He was very courteous, displayed great regard and took care of my dilemma very promptly. Also received fine attention… from Dwayne, one of his medical assistants, and the rest of his office staff was very helpful. I thank Dr. Shega for making same day and Saturday appointments available, and I would highly recommend him to others. By the way, he is opened on Presidents' Day and certain other holidays.

Uncaring doctor, unprofessional, and rude

Dislike. Likes to see you more than needed and charges copayment every time you come in for UVA therapy. Which can be very expensive when you go 4 times a week.
