Dr. John Michael Sojka, MD

Very good at what he does.

My mother was involved in a car accident and transported to KUMC. Dr Sojka repaired a severe laceration of her lower left leg, which, I'm told, was made much more difficult due to my mom's extremely thin skin. Two of the resident OT surgeons that assisted during that surgery did the inpatient follow-up a few days later, were extremely impressed that a second surgery wasn't needed, seemingly due to Sojka's handiwork. When a Dr. is spoken of in such high regard by others in the profession, it says something. Overall, KU is an amazing hospital.

Dr. Sojka is the best orthopedic surgeon at KU Med. He repaired my son's severely fractured hip and pelvis after a motor vehicle accident. He explained the procedure initially, then showed the injury and repair on X-rays. He continued showing us X-rays and the progress made at each follow up visit. It was well worth the 2 hr drive to receive the excellent care from Dr. Sojka. If you are in need of an orthopedic surgeon ask for Dr Sojka, you will not regret your choice.

After a car crash I was sent to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence Mo. The Ortopedic Surgeon reattached my foot 30 degrees out of whack causing me to walk like a duck. After meeting with Dr Sojka & an 8 hour surgery to reconstruct my leg, I'm happy to say I walk normally again. Do not let Centerpoint Hospital touch you. They are a Corporation Hospital & they only care about the money. When you walk into KU Med Hospital, you can tell immediately that they care about you as a person, not just the dollar signs.
