Dr. John Eric Sparks, MD

Dr. John eric Sparks joined the medical staff at Covenant Women's and Children's Hospital in August of 2011. He has served as the Chief Fellow and as a member of the NICU Pain Committee at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Dr. Sparks' primary research focus is in improving neonatal resuscitation. his research, Dr. Sparks has been invited to give lectures, has written numerous abstracts and obtained grants focused on developing better practices, including the NRP Young Investigator Award. Dr. Sparks recieved his doctorate of medicine from Texas Tech Iniversity Health Sciences Center. Prior to obtaining his M.D., he attended Baylor University where he was awarded the Baylor University Presidential Scholarship, Dr. William P. Ball scholarship and was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society. Dr. Sparks completed his residency in pediatrics through the Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock. His Fellowship in Neonatal- Perinatal Medicine was completed in Dallas …at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Sparks is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is liscensed to practice medicine in Texas. Dr. Sparks is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Pediatric Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a member of the Fetus and Newborn Committee for the Texas Pediatric Society.
