He is a very rude

Should have listened to all the bad reviews and not wasted my time. He was the most condescending doctor I have ever met. Try to ask questions and he compared me to an old car with a lot of miles on it. You can't fix old cars. I'm only 61 and I have a lot of miles left. I Won't Give Up I'm finding an answer to my back problem. My family doctor said I needed to see this kind of doctor, I guess he doesn't know anything either. Please don't waste your time with this doctor. If you call him that. I walked out of there thinking what just happened. One last note he records your conversation without telling you. Thought that was illegal?

Despite all the negative comments in these reviews, Dr. Spears is a highly talented and brilliantly skilled surgeon who is an expert in his field. My recent back surgery was flawlessly performed and my recovery was fast and painless. Dr. Spears is a military veteran who tells it like it is - very straightforward and sometimes brunt. He’s not a warm and fuzzy, hold your hand type of doctor but he’ll give you an honest assessment of your medical problem and what he can do to fix them. Follow his instructions and if he says he can make your spine issues better you can be confident that he will. His staff are all top notch as well. Best spinal surgeon in mid-Missouri. And if you need a back surgeon, that’s the kind I want ! I can skip the warm banter and hand holding. Go see Dr. Spears and make your own opinion. Just be forewarned about his irascible and no-nonsense personality.

I can't believe he is only rated at 3.1 stars. Maybe it's that he's not the warm and fuzzy kind of doctor. He direct and to the point, and doesn't beat around the bush. Personally I like that approach. Tell me how it is and what needs to be done. As for his skills as a surgeon? In my opinion he is the best around. When I first saw him I couldn't walk more than a few feet. After the operation, I stood up from the recovery bed, and walked around the floor with minimal discomfort. I am extremely happy I went to him, And you will be too!

You know where you stand with him . He will tell you if he can help but you have to do your part too. He is serious about his job and I have no doubts when he says he can or cant help. You may not like his manner, but he is as honest as they come. And he does care, he just get the job done and moves on. He is one of the best you could get for surgery. Surgery he's a 5 . And that's what you are there for Surgery

Very disappointed ! This Doctor was very very RUDE ! He acted like we were a total waste of his time , maybe we were because we weren't surgical candidates, maybe he should consider taking patients by referral basis only , either way he was a total jerk , condescending and rude, not listening to your concerns and if you asked a question he would stop you mid-sentence and say "If you don't want my advice I am done " We left the office wondering what just happened? I have never been more disappointed at a Doctors visit then this one! I work in the medical field and I have never encountered a Physician with this type of bedside manner before. Needless to say we would not recommend him , although his staff was nice and caring, I think they were even a little embarrassed of his behavior!

This was the worse experience I have had with a physician in my entire life!!! I'm disgusted. He was insulting, demeaning, cold, rude, arrogant, self centered, egotistical, would not let me speak or ask questions, and then referred me to his staff for any conversation I wanted to have. Totally regret the entire experience.

I had a serious spine issue and Dr. Spears helped me so much with surgery..he couldn't promise me I would walk again but I was determined and I am now walking! he is a wonderful Dr. and very nice bedside manner

Didn't appreciate being talked to like a dog!

Dr. Spears did lumbar spinal fusion surgery on me and he was very caring and dedicated to making me better. Thank you so much.
