Dr. John Jeffery Stangel, MD

My firstborn son who turns 39 this month I owe in part to Dr. Stangel. I had been told, "I'd never have kids." One DR actually said " you might as well just remove it all," meaning a hysterectomy. I was a total wreck, so depressed. I went to the mall and at a bookstore, on a shelf, I saw his book "Fertility and conception." I read it and cried at his caring and understanding. I was meltdown by then and sat down and wrote him a letter, simply mailing it to the address of the college on the back of the book. I told him how I would be willing to travel to NYC to see him. To my utter astonishment, he CALLED me at my work in Dallas. I was Floored. He was so kind. He told me of a colleague in Houston, a microsurgeon, excellent. I called Dr. Carl Levinson and made an appt. After major surgery and a tiny one, three complete cycles later I was pregnant!!!! Even though my odds weren't great. I had 3 kids and 5 grandkids now. Never more thankful than the day I got that life-changing call. Thank… you forever Dr Stangel!

I went to Dr Stangel 10 years ago I have four kids now and I am thankful to him because he is a kind and great doctor.

I’m trying to locate Dr . Stangel, Does anyone know how I can reach him?

Dr. Stangel was the second physician I visited for infertility, and performed my second operation. He is the most caring, the best listener, the best teacher, and the most effective in my life (I'm 74) of all the doctors I have had. We had given up on having our own child and had started adoption processes, when I learned about him. I conceived three months later. We have three extraordinary daughters. There are many reasons that can impede conception. There are impediments that cannot be overcome. No doctor can overcome all of these, but it looks to me as if Dr. Stangel has the qualities that will give a young couple the best chance.

There are very few physicians left in this world like Dr. Stangel. He is caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and thorough. My husband and I were using this practice for 2 years and found the staff to be the most amazing and this is based on the fact that we have used 2 other practices since then and they do not even compare with Dr. Stangel's staff. One of the things I would caution, is that if you are an older patient you may find better, more aggressive treatment elsewhere. I would love to say that I became pregnant by Dr. Stangel's methods, but I did not. We tried 3 IUI's and 2 IVF's and realized that I would need a more aggressive protocol. I think his affiliation with RMACT may have something to do with that, but I can't be sure. Dr. Stangel practically wrote the book on infertility treatments and so at the very least you should go for a consultation. I am with a new practice and while they use a very different IVF treatment plan we are not getting the level of attention we… received at this practice. You are never a number and he will take the time to meet with you, review your case, explain things to you thoroughly. He is calm and reassuring and as a patient all of these things mean a lot. Check out his ART stats on the CDC website. He is up there with the big city doctors. I wish we could have found success here, but as a former patient, I recommend you include Dr. Stangel at some point during your infertility journey.

I can't recommend Dr. Stangel enough. He is the kindest, most compassionate doctor I've ever used, and without him, I truly believe we wouldn't have our two amazing boys. He figured out why I was having multiple miscarriages and helped me stay pregnant, and all the while he kept me calm and positive. He spent time with me every single time I had an appointment and wouldn't let me leave his office until he had answered every question I had. I was just amazed at how real, how gentle, and how kind he was, and I will always remember him. Some day I will tell my boys the story of Dr. Stangel and how he helped bring them into the world.
