Dr. John Kevin Stanton, DO

I had seen Dr. Stanton for several visits after moving and seeking a new doctor after a lapse in my prescriptions. I knew from the first five minutes what type of experience I was going to receive. He refused to listen or expand on what I was telling him, dismissed nearly all questions I had and seemed to only want to push his acupuncture. He was extremely skeptical about continuing my prescriptions... even though I've had been on them for years with proven records. He told me it was required by law for me to see a therapist in order to get my medications and that he could lose his "DEA" number for prescriptions. He seemed to only want to argue and invalidate my symptoms and make my already stressful life, that much more difficult. Seeing this doctor is a mistake, don't waste your time. I wish I could give zero stars and actually have spent my time with a doctor who cares about the well-being of their patients.

I have seen him twice when my regular doctor was not available and each time he ordered expensive tests and each test had nothing to do with anything and he never followed up on the tests anyway. He did push his acupuncture quite heavily. On one visit I was concerned about anal bleeding and he would not even go there, also genital bumps he almost ran away, yeah I get it but my regular doctor dealt with my issues as well as cleaning out hardened ear wax. When my regular doctor with an intern was cleaning my ears he said "Don't you have someone else to do that" When I saw him before he had a look in my ears and saw the buildup of wax and he did mention it but did nothing. He really is a crappy doctor who you can never get any follow up info with but my regular doctor would literally call me after hours or say call her anytime. Also benzos at low dose had been a life saver for me and if I had them in the past alcohol related issues would have not been an issue. He asked if… I take benzos with alcohol and I said yes and without any follow up questions he said he blacklisted me for the medication. I have never been high on benzos in my life and took half the prescribed dosage not even daily with one question he overrode my doctor who knew me well. He also asked if I used cannabis and I did say yes and no follow up questions like if I used for pain or sleep or how much I use. I microdose to help with sleep and anxiety and never use enough to actually get impaired and most that I use are CBD strains. At the time I took 5mg and drank 3 beers at the most each day and for the first time in my life I slept normal and did not have anxiety all the time and could talk to people without constantly blushing. After that he made sure to claim Acupuncture cures everything. He seems to micro manage everyone around him and if he put that effort in to his practice with a bit of compassion he could be a great doctor.

Donna is unprofessional, given information on behalf of Dr. Stanton and the information she gives to patients is poor at best. She thinks she knows everything and she's the Office Manager. Had been going to Dr. Stanton for nearly 20 years until Donna gave me bad info after a cancer diagnosis and Dr. Stanton never cared to call to check on me. It's all about the money!

I was shocked at his unprofessional demeanor. While checking me for hemorrhoids, he said, "good thing we're not in San Francisco". He also tore out the directions for filing out the medical application when he found out I was an instructor. I had to come back to his office twice to get my medical certificate. I wrote a letter to the regional AME in Seattle, however, I see Stanton is still an AME. Do not go to this guy
