Dr. John Lacy Sturdivant, MD

Office staff is wonderful. Always kind and helpful. Wish I could say the same thing about the doctor. On the two occasions that I spoke to Dr. Sturdivant, he was very condensing. He cut me off before I could make my point. Assumed my point before I could make it. I went to see him for advice, not to be reprimanded. When I was finally able to achieve the reason for my visit I had some answers, but I had to indure all that unpleasant up front nonsense. Not happy and as I mentioned his attitude was the same on two out of two appointments. Bedside manner is -0.

The best outcome imaginable

My cardiologist tried so hard to get rid of the swelling that was making my life miserable. Dr Sturdivant saw me as a new patient and being very humble suggested another medicine. All the swelling disappeared immediately. He is my hero!

His assistant is the one who should get most credit for helping the patients and answering their questions, at least that is my experience. Dr. Sturdivant needs to listen. My time with him has been rushed and seems like he does not review my information before he sees me. I feel that he in know way remembers me so at least he should look at my chart. I saw him after a surgery and he nor any staff member even looked at my incision. Really just not want you would expect from a MUSC physician. Being a young doctor is not the issue, getting back to basics is key. Be a good doctor that displays that he really does care. Listen is key.
