Dr. Taliaferro has been very pleasant to work with at every appointment I’ve had with him. He was kind and took the time to explain to me the procedures that would be performed and the diagnosis. Dr. Taliaferro is a very thorough and compassionate doctor. I saw him for a meniscus root tear. I initially saw a UNC ortho Dr. after an MRI, and was given an injection in my knee to help with pain. I wanted a 2nd opinion since I had injured my knee even more 9 days after the injection when trying to ride my bike, which the 1st Dr said I could do. I had a 2nd MRI scheduled after being seen in the Emerge Ortho Urgent Care, thanks to trying to ride my bike, and saw Dr. Taliaferro for follow up this week. He explained everything in detail, showed me the images and we discussed what to do. Surgery is now scheduled and I'm confident that he will do a great job. He agreed with the original Ortho Dr about the injection since it was a minor tear on the original MRI, but now that it's a full tear, it requires surgery. He's a very knowledgeable man that explains in detail what's happening with your issue and listens to your concerns.
