Dr. John Stanley Taras, MD

Dr. Taras replanted my severed pinkie and repaired my third and fourth fingers on my dominant hand after an accident in 1994. He spent almost eight hours repairing vascular and neurological damage and pinning my hand back together. He was relatively new at the time and didn’t have much of a bedside manner but his clinical ability was top five in the country. One of my proudest moments was making him laugh at one of our visits. If I or a friend had a similar injury, I would try to have Dr. Taras involved in the treatment, of possible.

I had a finger joint replacement by Tara’s; he botched it royally doing much damage and I had to have an additional surgery (Dr Bednar-fabulous!).

I had carpal tunnel release surgery 2 weeks ago by Dr. Taras (and he team) and it was fabulous. I have felt great since I woke up from the surgery. Other than some soreness due to being cut into, I never took a pain med or have had any issues. I was back to work within days and can't say enough about how pleased I am with the whole experience. I heard many nightmare stories about this type of surgery so I put it off for years, but I found a great dr. and couldn't be happier with the result.

I told him I had questions and that he didn't spend much time addressing them. He nodded, and left the room. I looked at his resident and said, "See what I mean?" I think he wasn't pleased with surgical results, so he didn't want to talk about it.
