Dr Tessier’s approach with me was very personalized and after giving me the opportunity to discuss how the first 2 weeks following surgery went, he really listened and was able to zero in on what was causing some of my issues which was a response to the meds. I feel safe and assured in his hands & pulling the trigger on this surgery was difficult but necessary and I am so happy he is my Dr. My incision was straight, healed fast and I DID NOT have ANY bruising! That’s just unbelievable. He is a highly skilled surgeon.

Dr. Tessier has replaced knees on both my husband and I . He is an excellent surgeon and has a great bedside manner. We have been a patient for 20 plus years. At every appointment he listens to questions and concerns. Procedures are explained what needs to be done after the surgery. Would highly recommend to anyone needing his services.

I’m surprised he didn’t have overall rating of 5 stars!! He is without a doubt the most caring doctor I’ve been to in 50 years! He takes time with every patient-which may make him run late, but I’ll wait! He doesn’t jump in, look at chart and say you need surgery!!! I would highly recommend!

Had a right hip replacement by a different doctor in 2009 with no complications. Saw Dr. Tessier for a knee problem in 2014 and he said that I needed to have my left hip replaced and said he would attempt to shorten my left leg to make it even with my right. He did my left hip replacement in 2014 and when I woke up I couldn’t feel my leg, bend my ankle or toes up and my leg was even longer. My husband told me that Dr Tessier told him that he had “successfully lengthened” (yes lengthened). We immediately asked for a neurologist consult and he said no, it would just get better on its own. With continued numbness and increased nerve pain we asked at the next two apartments and he told us to wait and by the time we saw the neurologist she said I had severe nerve damage and that she waiting increased the chance it would be permanent. Neurosurgeon said it was too late for nerve transposition surgery but tried peroneal nerve release without success. The prior orthopedic surgeon said that he… would be afraid to revision because there was so much bone loss (because of oversized components). I am much worse off now than before and wish I would never have seen him.

Negative stars need to be an option for rating this doctor. I have bilateral hip dysplasia and my first hip replacement at Barnes several years before with no complications. Went to Dr. Tessier for a knee injury and he told me I needed to have my hip replaced and convinced me it would be easier if he did it. When I awoke from surgery my lower leg was numb, had severe nerve pain and I could not move my ankle. He kept delaying and told me that it would take time and it happened because I was “a thinner woman”. Finally went to other doctors and told I had severe foot drop, severe permanent nerve injury, and gait disorder and over lengthening. Every other doctor I have seen has told me that they have never seen an injury so severe from primary hip replacement. I will require a lifetime of medical treatment just to slow down the deterioration from this injury (including leg braces and custom frabricated shoes). My warning to you is if you are younger and have shallow hip sockets and need… hip replacement SEE AN EXPERT in dysplasia. This guy isn’t one.

Dr. Tessier has replaced my left hip and now my right knee. He is an excellent surgeon and his bedside manner is fantastic. He takes time to explain the procedures and listens to questions and concerns. I would recommend him to anyone needing these services..

I can't say enough about this doctor! He is, by far, one of the nicest, caring and compasionit doc's I've seen in a VERY long time! I have never had a long wait, but if there was, it's because he cares about talking to his patients-no matter how young or old, and now days it seems like they run in-look at your chart and run out! He does not ever do this! There are other docs-even within his large practice that do not have his bedside or chair side manner, so I would highly recommend!
