I was very pleased with Dr. Thurber as well as his staff. He took time to talk to me and answer any questions. A few months after surgery I had a complication that required hospitalization. Dr Thurber was right there checking on me. He does release you back to your Cardiologist after follow up, but tells you if you have any surgical complications to call him. I was very please and would use him again if needed.

This place is all about performing surgery. However, after surgery they are gone! There is no support, hard to reach someone, and they cancel appointments. The surgeon himself is a good surgeon, but that’s it. You don’t even see him again. IF (and I do mean if) you are lucky enough to get a follow up, it’s with a PA, not the surgeon! I would HIGHLY recommend a different surgeon, perhaps one who follows up with his patients. I have to agree with the other comments saying this office is uncaring and inconsiderate!

During a TEE prior to an aborted ablation the cardiologist confirmed two leaking heart valves. By the time I woke up, Dr. Thurber was at bedside explaining the necessary procedure. In three months after surgery with no complications, I was back to work as a handyman.

We have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Thurber himself, but his office staff is about the most unconcerned, incompetent bunch of nimcompoops we have ever tired to deal with. My husband has been trying to schedule a surgery for a week, and they have been anything but cooperative. I will be interested to see the doctor face to face so we can discuss their "attitude".
