Dr. John Joseph Tierney, MD

Don’t take your newborn to him. He will downplay your concerns and make you feel uncomfortable. He didn’t answer any of my questions, The overall appointment felt rushed and meaningless. I ended up going to another physician where my child got proper care. I would be not recommend him.

Dr. Tierney is smart and has an excellent bedside manner. He listens carefully and takes his time with his diagnosis and explains it well. He makes you feel as if your child is his only patient, which is saying a lot since he is at Kaiser!

Dr. Tierney is an absolute gem of a doctor. We are forever grateful for the tender care and sweetness he has shown our daughter for the first year of her life. Never condescending and full of quiet humor, Dr. Tierney is always at the ready to patiently answer a new parent's questions that range from the absurd to more profound concerns. His sensibilities and kindness are refreshing as we try to navigate the terrain of parenting. Never dismissive and ever steady, we always look forward to seeing him and value his advice and huge heart. Once you see how he speaks to your dear babe or asks how you're doing, you will feel it. Some docs are aces on the mound.

Dr. Tierney was very easy to talk to and he made my teen feel very comfortable - she usually sees only female doctors but Dr. Tierney was very nice and she has a more positive opinion of make doctors...
