Dr. John Samuel Treves, MD

He may be a good surgeon but he is a horrible doctor to people of color, especially women. Completely lacks empathy and extremely dismissive if experiencing pain.

Dr. Trevis has worked on both m husband and I! He is 100% fantastic!!! Very friendly, wonderful bedside manner and a great surgeon!!

As a nurse, you are constantly trying to provide excellent care. Dr. John Treves, Dave Siebels, Angela have totally achieved service excellence! I have had 2 surgeries by Dr. Treves and Dave. With each one, my symptoms have been gone in recovery! Dr. Treves has a calmness about him, explains what is going on, and the two of you decide the treatment. He will NEVER recommend surgery unless he can fix the problem, and all other modalities have been exhausted. Not a surgeon that says “ a cut is a cure”. He dos not PUSH surgery. When I have an appointment, I just “feel better” after talking with Dr. Treves, Dave and Angela. I am absolutely Blessed to have these people in my life. If you are looking for a neurosurgeon, Dr. Treves and his team are THE VERY BEST! I also am totally impressed with Midwest Surgical Hospital! From the time you see the receptionist, to the time you are discharged, you just know you have been WELL cared for. The hospital is physician owned which makes all the… difference! Nurses, housekeeping, kitchen staff, are HAPPY! Nurse patient ratio is great...allowing them to care for you. Rarely do you need to put a call light on.....they are just there. No 30 minute wait for help. I wish other hospitals could learn from them. Know you are in the BEST hands with Dr. Treves and his team! Thank you Dr. Treves, Dave, and Angela...you truly are the best. Dr. Treves has performed 3 surgeries on me. Two for broken necks and one for a broken lower back. Takes the time to carefully explain the surgery and gladly answers all of your questions. I highly recommend him for any neck or spinal surgeries.

He is a very caring Dr. Shows concern and will find the right solution for each patient. Very professional and intelligent..have sent several of my friends with back problems. Highly recomend!

Dr Treves has performed 4 surgeries on me since 2006. I even switched health insurance to be able to continue seeing him. He is by far the best surgeon I have ever had. Very knowledgeble,caring,great bedside manner. Very good at what he does.

Dr. Treves has performed the last 3 out of my 6 spinal surgeries. I was treated so inappropriately by 2 other surgeons until I met Dr. Treves. By the time I came to him, I was nearly paralyzed from the waist down, due to basically being butchered during 2 discectomies and 1 lami. He performed a fusion in my low back and I was able to function again right out of recovery! Dr. Treves has since performed 2 more fusions on my neck and lower back and i couldn't be happier with how I have turned out compared to where I was. There are 3 things that set Dr. Treves apart in my book... I have met several neuro's during my adventures as a patient with osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, and severe nerve damage, and he has exceeded them all with his knowledge, kindness, and expertise. His bedside manner leaves nothing to be desired! He is calming and doesn't act like some doctors with a God complex. He also knows my entire history off the top of his head, everytime we meet. You can't ask… for a better neurosurgeon in my book! I'm about to have my 7th back surgery today with Dr. Treves. He'll be performing my 4th fusion. This is a bi-level neck fusion, and my 4th fusion overall. I'll NEVER go to another neuro as long as he's practicing!! Thank you Dr. Treves for your wonderful care!

Al around bad doc

Dr. Treves was extremely rude and abrupt with my husband's appointment. First we saw a PA then you get the privilege of the Doctors presence. He is such a jerk. Looked at films on the wall and sarcastically said that he could not help his back pain...he was just getting old. Period...then left the exam room. He definitely thinks he is better than any of the rest of us humans...and missed the life skill of respect to others. Yes...I think he is very smart....but I would not recommend him to anyone for any reason. My husband is a civil engineer and equally skilled in a profession...but he knows how to appreciate and be respectful to people. Dr. Treves doesn't even know the meaning of that.....and truly makes you feel like you are wasting his precious time. We never will again...now or in the future.
