Dr. John Wayne Turk, MD

I’m not from the Chester IL area. My husband and I are truckers and was coming through this part of IL on our way to pick our freight up in Perryville Mo. When a painful sickness immediately struck me. After passing through several towns with hospitals we were trying to make our pickup time. But my pain became to sever so my husband searched our location and Chester Memorial Hospital was the nearest facility. We arrived at the hospital around 4:30 AM the nurses Got an IV started and blood drown and fluids running. Bout every 20 mins a Nurse would step in and check on me assuring me the doctor had been notified I was there. At about 6:30AM a small built Foreign doctor stepped in and said something so fast I couldn’t understand him then exited. However at around about 7:15AM doctor John Turk came in and began to access me. Over the next several hours he was in my room often explaining tests results and what his next step in treatment was going to be. I’ve never had a doctor be so… thorough in explaining a diagnosis. After several tests he realized I was under a gallbladder attack but understood I wasn’t from the area. And because it was the weekend he explained to me they didn’t have a surgeon present. So he treated me and got me prepared for the drive back home so I could be seen by my primary doctor. He’s definitely a doctor I’d recommend if he sees private patients. If he doesn’t then when he’s working the ER I truly believe he’d take care of any emergency that may arise. Thank you Dr. Turk for your wonderful compassion and true dedication in helping those of us in need in an emergency situation.

Courteous behavior, insightful diagnosis, effective treatment delivered in a congenial manner. I would see him again for any ailment I thought might be within or close to his area of expertise.
