Dr. John David Wainio

John Wainio, DDS grew up in Duluth and graduated from Duluth Central High School, UMD and the University of MN School of Dentistry. After serving as a dental officer in the USAF during the Vietnam War era, he returned to Duluth in July of 1970.
Dr Wainio maintains a general dentistry practice which has been serving patients in Piedmont Heights for more than 40 years. The practice provides for patients of all ages and focuses on preventative, diagnostic, esthetic and restorative services.
In addition to his full time practice Dr Wainio continues to serve many dental organizations including the Northeast District Dental Society, the MN Dental Association, The American Dental Association and the American College of Dentists. Through the years he has attained a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, was an officer for the Northeastern Dental Society, sat on the Board of Trustees for the MN Dental Association and the Board of Directors for Delta Dental of MN. He also served the …local community as a member of the Hermantown Planning & Zoning Committee, the Duluth Harbortown Rotary and the board of directors of Blood Donors, Inc.
Dr Wainio and his wife Karen lived in Hermantown for more than 20 years and their children, David and Kim, both graduated from Hermantown High School. He and Karen moved to Island Lake in Fredenberg in 1994 where they both enjoy many outdoor activities.
