Dr. John J Wang, MD

At my initial consultation with Dr. Wang, he talked incessantly over me to the point where I could not fully explain my history and current symptoms. He asked a few questions, and he condescendingly and arrogantly, after 30 mins, instantly had a few ‘diagnoses’ - that were all contradictory. I was referred to him for medication management, as my current regime is working and I needed him to take over refills. He told me that I needed to see either an LGBT psychiatrist or a psychiatrist who supports the LGBT community.

Dr. Wang gave me the wrong diagnosis and medication many times. He gives no advice, doesn't admit when he's wrong and is definitely in the wrong profession. He barely remembers my name and when asked a question, he reads from a manual or a computer like a robot. He is negative, rude, cold and condescending. Spends 10 minutes maximum on a phone appointment, has NO EMPATHY and really doesn't care. He is extremely lazy, hates his job, and only wants to keep people on meds forever. He is not interested in his patients needs, requests, issues or life. He is rude - doesn't show up for virtual appointments and keeps you holding on the computer and doesn't even apologize for not showing up. He has no personality or bedside manner. If you just want a prescription filled, it's a 5-10 min call every three months and he bills for a 50 minute appointment. The only reason I went to him was for prescriptions. I left his practice as I had an issue with the meds, and he wouldn't listen and only… wanted to called in the same meds. His attitude gets worse the longer you use him. I recommend staying far away.

Doctor was looking at the computer screen rather than eye contact with the patient (me). Started with very high dose of venlafaxine which knocked me out. Called again and reduced the dose 75%.
