Dr. John Michael Weisenreider, MD

I wish you could negative stars. One is too good for this guy! Weisenreider is one of the most condescending, arrogant and self-important physicians that I have ever had the misfortune of being treated by. Not only is demeanor and "bedside manner" terrible, his skills and care he gives as a doctor are severely lacking. He makes wild assumptions about you, then records those assumptions in your permanent medical file, which then affects the care and treatment you get from other physicians when you finally get sick of him and dump him for more a more competent doctor. Because of his behavior, sub-par care and actions, I filed a complaint against him with his bosses at Wayne Memorial Health, which resulted in him receiving an official reprimand and me receiving (several) apologies from the higher ups there. He is very lucky that I didn't sue him and WMHS. Do whatever you have to do to avoid being treated by this arrogant fool, even if it means driving an hour. Believe me, it… will be well worth your time and effort to not be subjected to this guy and his quackery!

TOTAL QUACK! Had the nerve to call my child a pill head because she asked to see a specialist. (She refused a prescription this quack tried to shove on her) Horrible bedside manor. Full of himself!

I decided to make a change and see Pike County Family Health and saw this doctor. Never again, he has no respect for women and I was humiliated by his demeanor and exam. I seriously suggest not choosing, especially if you are a women.

I have been to this office many years ago and i could say it wasn't that pleasant. There are not many choices for health care in this area, so i went back here after i moved near the area again and found that they have improved on almost everything. They are also adding new buildings and taking new patients on weekends with no appointment. They also accept most insurance including medicaid and offer discounts on sliding scale. You can get your lab work and xrays right next door. Some people may say the doctor doesn't have the best bed side manner but i felt i was in good hands and he was knowledgeable on every condition I had or asked about. My suggestion is to let the dr do his exam and finish talking, then say you have a question and speak up. Then tell him your concerns, questions about what he said, or anything else while you have his attention. He does listen to you and seems to care more than he lets on.

I've been going 2 this poor excuse 4 a medical practice about 5yrs only bcuz I've had no choice. I've told them over n over what is wrong w/me but it falls on deaf ear's. Out of fear I had 2 make an appt n went 2 today , 9 days after my last TIA and a brief hospitalization. Dr John M Weisenreider was rude, presumptuous, and dismissive. My BP was extremely high(Stoke BP) n he had my file. He leaned over to listen w/the stethoscope and said to me "have U been drinking alcohol"? I was SHOCKED n I said well around last Christmas I did a little bit. His reply "I smell alcohol" then he noted it in my chart. I DON'T EVEN DRINK ALCOHOL!!!! Needless to say he will notbe get away w/that! No wonder I get treated like some kind'a druggie cuz that office is putting crap in my files that isn't true! So armed w/my stroke-out BP, my MRI interp(2 new TIA's one old stroke), the fact I was diagnosed about 5yrs ago as having MS what do U think Doctors move was? A BP perscrpt and a big buh-bye. I tried… to ask him about TIA or MS (not sure which) symptoms I am experiencing n abruptly he snapped "NO Ur not here to discuss that Ur here 4 swelling of the feet n ankles. WOW I am scared 2 death of what could happen to me next!! I was in tears begging him to please listen to me n but Doctor abrasive went about his biz after saying make an appt for a mth from now. Is he kidding me? My next step w/him isn't anywhere near an office visit in HIS office! If ANYTHING happens 2 me I will hold him personally responsible. God knows more then enough ppl know whats going on w/me n what went down in that office 2day as well as other visits.

1) 12:45 appt. and was called at 1:15, although there was no one else in the waiting room-no apology or explanation for the wait. 2) Nurse took my BP and I told her it was much higher than my normal BP. She did nothing. I was very frightened about this and checked it elsewhere asap. It was normal. Nurse should have retaken BP just to check. 3) Spent a great deal of time with resident, then she left, and doc FINALLY came in about 15 minutes later. 4) The doctor did not ask me anything. He made assumptions and didn't listen when I tried to correct him about my symptoms. He talked a lot and rapidly. 5) When he came back with orders (bloodwork, etc.) he gave each order to my husband and gave him the paperwork, as if I didn't exist or was not capable of understanding (I have a master's degree). This was very condescending and insulting. 6) Cited preventative care methods. As far as I'm concerned there's a difference between preventative care and looking for something when there are no… symptoms or family history. Why get a dose of radiation for no reason?

The doctor is knowledgeable and accurate. The office staff are friendly, pleasant to deal with and very accommodating.

He is a great doctor, but they need better phone Service.
