Dr. John B Weltmer JR., MD

After visiting an urgent care and being told it may be a torn ligament but nothing was broke. I sought an orthopedist. I specifically asked Dr. Weltmer to x-ray the outside of my ankle. He said there was no need. Wear this boot for 3 weeks and come back if its not better. After 3 weeks I went to another orthopedist that x-rayed to outside of the ankle and plain as day it was broken. I went for a total of 43 days with a broken ankle, and no pain meds. I guess I could expect it from urgent care but not a surgeon. He just did not listen to me.

He operated on my right foot for a Morton Neuroma he said. Upon opening the foot twice to check the nerves, he decided it wasn't a neuroma. However, now the nerves in my foot are at a real high of sensitivity. Just touching them, just about sends me through the roof. When I came back in to complain, he didn't even see me. One of his underlings, told me that he it was caused by diabetic neuropathy. What an idiot, even my podiatrist said he screwed up. I suggest you find someone else to do any surgery.

This is a very busy office but I never have a problem getting an appointment. Out of the 6 visits I've had so far, my longest wait was 20 minutes. X-rays can be taken at the office so that's convenient. Most importantly, Dr. Weltmer took the time to explain the treatment from start to finish. He always answers my questions - even if they may sound silly. I never feel rushed through my appointment with him despite the fact he runs a very busy practice. He's practical and no-nonsense in his explanations and advice; no sugar-coating, no fantasies about recovery.

i was misdiagnosed after a very brief exam. Seemed disinterested and unwilling to investigate further.

Dr. Weltmer did an excellent job with my total hip replacement. However, he failed to prepare me for joint replacement. I also have a foot injury that I will have to live with the rest of my life. The office staff is incompetent and rude. My overall rating would be one star.
