Dr. John Howell Wesolek, MD

Dr. Wesolek operated on me three times, two of those times were emergency life saving. The first time i had a perforated colon due to the ER not realizing that the seriousness left me waiting six hours and i got septic and was in a coma for a week. Dr. Wesolek is not a fan of small talk but big on honesty and quality work. He saved my life in the OR and continued to follow up with me throughout my entire stay, made sure my 12 cm wound was dressed properly and redo it if he thought it was not packed tightly, also explained to me my new diagnosis very clear and although it was serious there was no fake im so sorry blah blah but rather come up with a treatment plan to adjust to my new normal. I say this to say that bedsides manners are important but i like his straightforward aproach bc it shows his experience and confidence. Also he has some wholesome colon jokes.

I went for a physical and I felt uncomfortable with him checking my rectum . He got upset and said he couldn't perform my he denied it .. surgery . creep

Callous, unkind, and unprofessional. Disregarding of patients concerns. More than willing to take your money only to say nothing is wrong then ship you off to another doctor, even when a problem has already been documented.

I waited 75 minutes to see this doctor for less than ten minutes. His manner was that he could care less about his inefficiency. His complaint was that he had to take over another doctor's patients. I suggest he hire additional staff to cover his problem which he has known about for several months (I was scheduled to be operated on by his colleague who retired- my operation was scheduled for the end of April, but my mother passed away, forcing me to re-schedule with Dr. Wesolek. I have read other reviews where the reviewer claimed that it was a standing joke in the waiting room about the one hour wait. This type of uncaring and arrogant manner would not be tolerated in my field (I'm a special education teacher for children with behavior disorders.)
