Dr. John Raymond Wickman, MD

So grateful to Dr Wickman for taking care of my son’s two fingers which were nearly cut of by a lawn mower. We had gone to the nearest Quick Clinic and the doctor there said no way would he attempt to treat such a severe cut. We then headed to Dr Wickman who put stitches in the finger prescribed antibiotics and now 4 weeks later it is almost healed. Great doctor with years of experience and he has certainly gained a new patient, my son thinks he is the best, my husband and I do also.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Wickman for over a year. He is great to listen and explain conditions to you. My husband had been to several doctors for a sever sinus problem, they ordered test after tests, but no treatments to relieve the problem. One visit to Dr Wickman and he started meds and the problem cleared up in a few weeks. We both highly recommend him and his office staff is wonderful.

I went to see Dr. Wickman to secure a primary MD. I had been seeing a nurse practitioner and needed an MD. The staff in the front were SUPER UBER sweet, so I felt like I was in a good place until the doctor came into the room. He was hostile from the moment he walked in the room, asking me WHY ARE YOU HERE in a annoyed tone. When I went to speak, he waved his hand (to say hurry up) and then told me, "Get to the point." By now, I was shocked. I had never had a doctor act this way. I preceded to tell him that I had TMJD (just to give him an overview of my conditions). As soon as I said this, he HOPPED OUT of his seat. Moments later, he came back to tell me I was not welcome as a patient. WHY? Dr. Wickman had made the ASSUMPTION THAT since I had a painful condition, I MUST WANT PAIN DRUGS. NOPE! I have never taken pain medications for my TMJD. Not once. If he had inquired, he would have learned that. I use physical therapy, massage, etc. If he had inquired further he would have learned… that as my OCCUPATION, I work as a counselor for people with substance abuse issues. Once he made this assumption that I was a low-life drug user, that is how he treated me, telling me to leave his office. I wasn't welcome as a patient. This is my issue. TWO-FOLD. 1). You DO NOT Assume just because someone has a pain condition, they are seeking drugs. You have sympathy. Living is PAIN IS NOT EASY. SECOND, 2). SAY I was an addict (which I am not). BUT just say I was. A DOCTOR should guide such a person struggling with addiction TO A TREATMENT CENTER. OFFER them help. LISTEN. People with substance abuse problems are struggling with a disease. THEY DESERVE empathy--NOT to be treated like sub-humans. Overall, the guy just exhibited this condescending, uncaring demeanor. He needs therapy. Mental health counseling to learn how to be a better human being on this planet. The real kicker was all the Bible stuff in his office. Dr. Wickman, JESUS never treated people the way you treated me. Just saying. WWJD?

Dr. Wickman won't return a call about a rx refill. He has had his license taken away in the past (according to what I've read) for sexual misconduct. He has to have a chaperone in the room at all times when he is with a patient. They make you sign a paper saying you were chaperoned. When I asked about it, they would not tell me why even though I already knew and was willing to give Dr. Wickman a chance. I asked at two different visits and never got an answer. This lack of honesty is what has made me look for a different doctor.

Listen to me about what is going on. Changed my meds to make sure my body would do better. And guess what, it did!

Very professional, they are easy to talk to. Everything was such a breeze being here.

The doctor was fine as well the nurse. They both accomodate my needs and were really patient with me.,
