Dr. John Dudley Wilcox, MD

Dr John D Wilcox performed cataract surgery on my left eye in 2007. My experience with Dr Wilcox was the worse medical experience I have ever had in my lifetime. Dr Wilcox was a specialized ophthalmologist in cataract surgery which he performed this surgery on both my left eye. Unfortunately , Dr Wilcox let my eye len fall in my retina during the procedure. He then tried to correct his mistake by going into my retina to remove it. This caused a tremendous amount of inflammation, pain and damage to my eye. As a result , I went through 3 additional eye surgeries in attempt to save the eye. I went to Mayo Clinic to have these surgeries performed in 2008. Consequently these numerous eye surgeries could not correct the surgical procedure Dr Wilcox performed which left my eye completely blind. My eye is now a light blue almost white compared to my right green eye. It is very noticeable and draws a significant amount of attention by people . This terrible incident in my… life has caused me a tremendous amount of pain physically and mentally. I was very much awake during the surgery with twilight sleep. I could hear all about the trip to Washinton that he had just returned from and what a pleasant time he had going. To this day , I have never received an apology from Dr Wilcox.

When I was 18 I had a nail strike me in my eye, mr Wilcox started to me he was going in just to try to save my eye. He didn’t just save it but he repaired it. Now I’m 46 and my eye is still doing great. I’m forever great full for all his help. Thank you Mr Wilcox.
