Dr. John James Wilkins, DO

Dr. Wilkins is a joke and a disgrace to the psychiatric community. He prescribed medication without truly diagnosing my son's condition. My son would have a 5 minute visit and pay cash. After hospitalization, the right diagnosis was given and the correct medication was given. I thank every day for the professionals at Inspira who I believe helped save my sons life. I Dr. Wilkens does give a rat's tail about his patients and only about his shore house. I don't even want to give 1 star. If you truly need help, especially with psychosis, stay away from this so-called doctor.

Worst Dr. I ever seen!!!!!

This is the worse!!! What DR do you know you cant get in touch with or the office. I cant even schedule a visit and because of the medication I was sick for a week. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Why is there a phone system if you cant get in touch with no one. I hate it badly and its getting worse and worse. Im so angry I cant find another DR that would take my insurance I mean it.

Dr. Wilkins himself is wonderful. But since the new phone system has been put in place, i actually called 27 times trying to get through for meds refill...he called ot in but pharmacy couldn't understand his instructions...never called in again to correct problem. I have been without meds for 4 days. Ever since the practice moved, it's too hard to get a live person on the phone.. .its all about leaving messages. I left messages on every single phone option, and no callbacks. Rochelle always answered phone, called u back, and filled RX's immediately. Front desk needs some serious review. No teason to try and call 2 weeks and get no answer. I am thinking of leaving. It's a shame. .

Worst psych I ever came across. I have worked in the Pharmaceutical field with Psychs, Psychologists, and Neuro's for 3.5 years and the medical field for 2 years. I have worked with thousands of doctors, and Dr. Wilkins is absolutely in the bottom 5% as far as communication and professionalism in dealing with people goes. He showed ZERO empathy to what I came to see him for. I see all the negative reviews about him online, which I wish I viewed before I scheduled an appointment. I see why people feel the way they do. The response on "You're not a talk therapist," Um yes you kinda are dude. You do both! The best psychs LISTEN to their patients and learn everything they can about what they are dealing with and then discuss treatment options that are best. They also make them feel COMFORTABLE. Maybe that subject was skipped in med school...I could list a page more but for time sake just STAY AWAY. In addition his secretary is miserable and ignorant and such a drag to deal with. The whole… place wears you down when it should do the complete opposite. He has wasted my time and treated me like a number, which someone in his profession should never make someone feel. He needs to stop focusing on the amount of money he's bringing in and start caring for the patients he treats. Period.

I see Dr Wilkins regularly. He’s quick but thorough. He is not a therapist. A psychiatrist usually finds the right meds for you. He’s very responsive and competent

Dr. Wilkins is the best Dr./Psychiatrist I’ve ever had. Great integrity and speaks to you respectfully and knows what he’s doing.. Been with him for 4 years now and have NO plans on leaving @ all..

Doctor spends little or no time with patients. Just keeps writing prescriptions. I don't know how he gets away with it.

I think Dr. Wilkins is great. Others can have their own opinions but I've been seeing him for at least 8yrs now. He takes time to ask how your doing & how life in general is going..makes sure all my meds are working right. If I need any kind of adjustments on my meds he does whatever he could to help. It's hard to find certain doctors you really like. I myself wouldn't want anyone other then Dr. Wilkins to be my psychiatrist. That's why after I moved I drive over an hour one way to see him. Even his secretary is very nice & very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone in the area that needs a good psychiatrist.

He takes time with my child to figure out if the meds are helping. He's always available and very caring
