Dr. John S Wolthuis, MD

I suffered with this man for months. He inserted catheters bone dry in his office. The day of my turp I’ll never forget. He only allowed me pain control that goes up your butt. He yanked the foley out, and said good luck and left the hospital. I covered the bed in blood. It was clotting so bad the foley was blocked. My nurse freaked. This guy treats you like he found you on the bottom of his shoe.

Dr Wolthius diagnosed me with Bladder Cancer in 1991. Surgery was successful, quick recovery with close follow up. Diagnosed a trace of recurrence during follow-ups. Explained the cause, removed it, and eventually released me as healthy and free.

I had to write a review after seeing two negative reviews on Dr. Wolthuis. My husband and I both have been to him and he has performed surgeries on both of us. Dr. Wolthuis was the one who discovered my husband had cancer surgery and I have had bladder issues. We both have found Dr. Wolthuis extremely knowledgeable and professional in our dealings with him and I would not hesitate to recommend him to a friend.

After having been one of the Dr. Patience for over a year and several surgeries, I have found Dr. Wolthuis to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. He is the type of Dr. that will tell you like it is, having served many years in the military, this is the Urologist to use if you live anywhere in Utah.

My husband had a vasectomy by Dr Wolthuis, and of course was very nervous. He was so good at puting my husband at ease. He explained everything in detail and then during the procedure he was great at keeping my husbands mind off of what was going on. He talked about other things the entire time and before we knew it the procedure was done. I highly recommend him and expecially if your husband is nervous like mine was.

I'm not one to leave many reviews but I almost canceled my husband's vasectomy appt. w/ Dr. Wolthuis after I read the previous two reviews but after speaking w/ his staff my fears were put at ease and we kept the appt. I'm so glad we did. Dr. Wothuis has a wonderful, caring bedside manner and a sense of humor my husband and I both enjoyed -it put us both at ease. But most importantly,he knows his stuff and we had absolutely no doubt in his conpetence. He thoroughly addressed all our concerns and questions as if he had all the time in the world to do so. I'm so glad he performed my husband's vasectomy, he was the perfect doctor to do so. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Wolthuis.

I met with Dr. Wolthuis and he is hands down a wonderful doctor. He was very prompt and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend him as a doctor. I don't know what the other two people are talking about, go to him. He helped me with my bladder problems so efficiently!!!!!

I would not reccomend this doctor. I just shared with him some of the problems I'd been having over the last three months with bladder. He was not very nice or compassionate at all. He wasn't listening to me and I would not reccomend seeing him to anyone. He told me there was nothing wrong with me when their clearly was. I had to see a different doctor who did take care of me and diagnosed me with serious bladder infections that needed to be treated in a different way. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

This was hands down the rudest doctor I have encountered. I commuted 3 hours to see him, and he made fun of me for doing so. He told me I was lying and wanted attention. I was later diagnosed with severe kidney inflammation that this man could have prevented. He would not listen to anything I had to say and would cut me off. I think he should be removed from the medical field.
