John Zupancic, MD

Dr. John A.F. Zupancic is a neonatologist in the Division of Newborn Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School who specializes in neonatal-perinatal medicine and the care of critically ill and premature newborns in the NICU. He earned his medical degree from McMaster University in Canada and completed residency training in pediatrics there before pursuing fellowship training through the Harvard Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Program. He also earned a Doctor of Science degree in Health Policy from the Harvard School of Public Health, with concentrations in decision science and economics. In addition to his clinical care, Dr. Zupancic is internationally recognized for his research in neonatal health services, healthcare economics, and quality improvement, with a focus on improving outcomes and resource utilization for newborns and families in intensive care settings. He also serves as Director of the Harvard …Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program and has received numerous honors for mentorship, education, and public health leadership.
