My son got tubes when he just turned two. At about two in a half I noticed one tube in the right ear, freaked out a little because I didn't know if it could come out yet or if I could just pull it out. Went to KDMC and when Dr. Brinkman looked at my sons ear, he took the tube out of one ear very easy and with no problem but couldn't verify if the left tube was in or not but said it would come out eventually. Well since then, my son now three had got an ear infection in the right ear and when I noticed I looked in the left ear and saw the tube. I called and basically was told that they do fall out on it's own but bring him in if he was having any pain or fever... I went to the ER couple days later and his right ear did have an infection but when I told the nurse about the tube in his left ear she said it must have fallen out because she couldn't see it, it wasn't there and that he had a lot of ear wax and then flushed his ear. Well now almost four, I seen him dig in his ear and I looked… and there the tube was.....Well I just decided I didn't want to pay for yet another visit for a tube I've basically been told was out twice or where it should be. Considering the first time I went in, the right tube came out so easy. Well this time, I was going to pull it out myself. Except when I went to, it hurt my son. Called tried to explain the situation and the earliest we could be seen was a week from now. Well see I did that last time, just scheduled an appointment to be seen because my son wasn't in pain, but by the time the appointment came he had pushed the tube back into his ear far enough not to be seen. So I told them that I didn't want to schedule because he needs it out now. So I took my son to the ER, and when the nurse came in and tried to take it out he couldn't and then didn't want to and told me to make an appointment. So the first time the right tube was coming out I should have just taken it out myself. Now with the left tube, I have tried TWICE to get someone to take it out and now I have to wait for my appointment again and by then he might have already shoved it back into his ear or causes damage to his hearing which I think has already happened. If and when this tube is removed and it turns out that he has hearing problems I'm not going to be a very happy mother. Conclusion to my review, is that sure maybe the first time I went in for the first tube coming out I liked Brinkman. That changed the second time I had to take my son in to be seen. Also that I didn't feel as if I was being taken seriously. Now my son's hearing and health may be on the line.

Dr. Brinkman and his staff calmed my nerves. He has great bedside manner and make me feel super comfortable. Also, his scheduler Debbie will help you find a date that better suits your needs. Overall great experience...even though I have to have my tonsils out. lol

I had been to several doctors that weren't able to diagnose a large growth in my neck. Not only did Dr. Brinkman have a diagnosis within minutes after seeing him but promptly scheduled me for surgery to have it removed. I just recently had my surgery and it was done with the utmost care to prevent scarring and I'm thrilled with the results. I have to add that not only is he a wonderful dr. but also an awesome guy. He talks to you like you're a person, not "above" you. I can't say enough good things about him!

Dr Brinkman done an excellent job taking out my tonsils! Although it was painful , I am recovering after just two weeks! Talks to you like a person and not over you. Down to earth. I had a good experience and we will definitely recommend him!

Dr. Brinkman is a very fine doctor with the best of professional courtesy. He explained in great depth about the procedure he did to me. Gone into detail of what type of scan I received at K.D.M.C. for this also.I saw him for a suspected sighting on a P.E.T.scan,this a cancer detection to find cancer.He helped calm my fears in a great way. One fine doctor! I saw some negative reviews written on this doctor,but to me he is tops and will be my doctor as long is necessary to have an E.N.T.God Bless You Dr. Brinkman!Thank You
