My husband underwent an unexpected triple bypass. By chance, Dr Walkes was his surgeon. I can't say enough about Dr Walkes. This health situation took us both by surprise. Dr Walkes was caring, empathetic and respectful. No question wasn't worth asking. While he made my husband less fearful, he took all the time I needed to understand not only the procedure but my role as caregiver in the weeks following the procedure. Frankly not only is he a talented surgeon but a wonderful person. Health situations like this can be so frightening and we were so grateful to have Dr Walkes and his staff to turn to.

I think Dr. Walkes is an excellent doctor. I understand he is now in Texas. If he were still in the Bay Area I would recommend him to anyone needing heart surgery. He was my dads doctor and he was great not just with him but with us (his family) also. He made my dad feel comfortable from the first appointment and made himself available to us for questions and concerns.

Dr. Walkes is an excellent physician. I am a Jehova's witness and he did my minimally invasive mitral valve surgery. I had a wonderful experience.
