Dr. Jon Edward Dennis, MD

Dr. Dennis was thorough and was so patient. Our appointment took a while due to my son having nausea and headaches for unknown reasons. We saw him through the walk in clinic so he didn't know my son or our family dynamics at all. It shocked me when Dr. Dennis brought up the history of mental illness in my family. He pointed out that mental health issues may be the cause for my son's physical health issues, and finally someone was an advocate for my son because boy was he right! My son who was 10 at the time couldn't say that he was depressed, stressed or anxious as he was ashamed and being so young I don't even think he knew the depression and anxiety were causing his somatic symptoms. That is until Dr. Dennis brought it up, and educated him on it. After Dr. Dennis brought it up, my son felt like it was ok, he felt safe and comfortable and he talked. The appt was a walk in a ppt meaning usual very fast in and out, but Dr. Dennis spent over 45 min with my son and I as we dug into my… son's problems. To this date my son strill says he wants to write Dr. Dennis a thank you card because he was the one person who got through to my son, letting him know mental health is nothing to be ashamed of, but if left untreated it will continue to get worse.

I have been taking my children to CentraCare since they were born. He is the only doctor that I have had negative experiences with. Without going into too much detail, he misdiagnosed my children on two separate occasions. They promptly received treatment upon an examination by a different doctor. While I cannot be certain, I feel that he had some preconceived notion that I was overreacting. I am not an overprotective parent who takes my children into the clinic for every sniffle or tummy ache, so I'm not sure why we were treated this way. He has a friendly bedside manner, so I feel bad about giving him a poor review. However, I would not recommend him to anyone.

He was just a creepy guy overall. I've had him as a doctor and he was very strange and was not helpful at all in diagnosing any problems and trying to solve them.
