Dr. Jon Winston Draud, MD

I've been going to Dr. Draud for 3 years now. He has always been very kind and caring. He's answered every time I've called him and never made me feel rushed when I had questions. I know some who have been made to feel bad about themselves when needing to be on certain medications and Dr. Draud has never made me feel that way. He's always helpful and I feel like he truly cares about my mental health.

Suddenly dropped with zero notice after 20+ years of being a patient. This doctor seems to care nothing about his patients. Zero stars. Extremely unprofessional and in my opinion, unethical. You will be lucky if you get an appointment lasting over three or four minutes. Questions discouraged. Receptionist will not return phone calls. The whole operation is simply terrible. In no way recommended.

I really hate to write a negative review, but I had a terrible experience with Dr. Draud and wanted to warn others to choose another provider if possible. Some experiences of my appointments included: 1. Sessions lasted 10-15 minutes or less and he would call at times that were not my scheduled calls. 2. During one of my appointments, he was driving and had no idea what medications I was on. He had to put me on hold so he could pull over. 3. He looked at my genetic test and asked me what medication I wanted to be on. 4. He gave me no instruction on how to taper off medication and start a new medication. He started me off on a very high dose and I had terrible side effects. He and the front desk did not answer my calls for a few days and I ended up having to go to the Emergency Room. 5. I was also charged many times for appointments that were not scheduled. 6. Needless to say, I am very grateful to have found a new provider and not be under Dr. Draud.

He has been my doctor for many years. He got me on the best medication for my severe depression after many other medications had been tried and proved unsuccessful by my family doctor.

I was desperate for a new psychiatrist and he was able to get me in quickly. We set an appointment for over the phone, which was weird enough to me, but then that morning he called me and left a voicemail asking if I could meet earlier. I was in a meeting and missed that call. He then called me during lunch and asked again. I said no and that was the whole point of making an appointment. I was about to have my one month follow up today and cancelled. Again... I got a call this morning asking if I was free right then. When I said no, I was told he had meetings all afternoon. What the heck?? This whole experience made me feel uncomfortable and that my time wasn't valuable. Also my first appointment was supposed to be 45 minutes and was only a 15 minute call. Would not recommend.

This man is dangerous. After getting me on an effective medication, and me doing better! He saw me 2 times, then dropped me with no explanation. He sent me a letter saying he was closing my file. No new prescription to give me time to find a new doctor! I was without meds, suicidal, couldn't function for nearly 2 months. Dr. Draud is the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with. He needs help from a good psychiatrist. DO NOT put yourself or a loved one in danger. I can't stress that enough. My pcp was shocked when she saw the state he left me within 4 months. Please don't do it! I wish I could put my contact information here for you to call me.

Longtime Patient. Found Dr. Draud to be very caring, compassionate and responsive.

Dr. Draud is very kind and as I already had medicine that worked for me and was moving from another city he was very cool about me staying on the same meds

Dr. Draud has been kind and courteous to me each visit. But is always too rushed to listen to me, and I don't feel very connected with him. I don't feel like he has taken the time or effort to accurately assess me and has not taken a thorough history. Worst of all he recently prescribed for me a medication I felt was putting my health in danger, as it was something I had a history of adverse reaction to, and did not match my diagnoses or needs at the time. Luckily I had the sense to recognize the generic name of the medication and disposed of it without taking any of it. The staff and Dr. Draud have always been very accomodating to my appointment needs. And maintain a calm and peaceful atmosphere in the office. This office is lacking due to no access to a talk therapist. I continue with this doctor because I feel comfortable sharing with and talking to him, and do not dread our appointments.

After 3 years of going to sleep disorders specialists for narcolepsy, I was pretty mental and was begging my PCP to send me to hospital for mental help. She sent me instead to Dr. Draud who worked with my PCP to manage my narcolepsy w/c, and what was dignosed as bipolar. A year later, I am functional, in a way that gets me around a bit. I know that my disease can only be managed to a certain degree and I live in a new "normal". I am so greatly for Dr. Draud, because I can interact with the world again. He has and continues to be a miracle worker in my life.
