Dr. Gertken earned his undergraduate degree and his Medical Degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He also completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas Hospital in 2008. His residency was completed in 2011 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Gertken is currently finishing a Fellowship with Dr. Atul Patel at Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. His clinical interests include non-surgical orthopedics/musculoskeletal medicine, back and neck pain, and general rehabilitation. In his fellowship he has spent additional time learning about Ultrasound-guided procedures, Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Electrodiagnostics, clinical applications of the various Neurotoxins (e.g. Botox, Xeomin, Dysport) and is participating in several ongoing research studies.
He and his wife live in Kansas City, and we welcome him to our multispecialty group …practice.
