Dr. Jon Frank Lieberman, MD

I met this man as a patient towards the end of 2015 when I felt I was running out of options to receive medical treatment of my ailments. I had suffered chronic pains and debilitating drops in energy which had made life unbearable. For 7 years (17-24) I had been into the emergency room or had meetings with other doctors in Alaska to discuss finding the cause of my problems. Before coming to Denali Surgical Specialists I had been rerouted numerous times to another dead end or offered anti-depressants to deal with living in pain. After a couple meetings Dr. Lieberman had made arrangements to find answers and took my word and my concerns seriously. After surgery and with an amount of time to heal, I am living a normal life without pain and looking towards the future once again. Two days ago I turned 28 years old, which I had not seen coming to me prior to this experience. Just had hernia surgery with Dr. Lieberman. I really appreciated his "old fart" attitude - do the job right. He explained procedures and his approach in detail, and his resistance to a current trend in "efficiency." Although I can't rate the office high on "promptness," they were some of the nicest people. It seemed like they were constantly adjusting to dynamic schedules. Both of my appointments with him were delayed, yet, I understood from him that he spends the time he needs to spend with a patient and, if it means running late, so be it. All in all, it was a very positive experience (as positive as hernia surgery can be). I didn't really have many options, so I just kind of defaulted to Dr. Lieberman, but feel very fortunate that I did.
