Dr. Jon Thomas Vu

I have been going to Pain and Spine for about 20 years, and specifically Dr. Jon Vu. He has been the best doctor that I have been to for pain. I have had Fibromyalgia since 1979 and have had a low back injury since 2017. The clinic has gotten me through living with this pain. I recommend Pain and Spine to anyone in pain.

After over 12 years of treatment for chronic pain and degenerative discs, when my doc retired, I was sent here. Dr. Vu asked few questions and was clear that he would not help me. He said that years ago he would have written my prescriptions but now it’s different due to regulations. No doctor should allow DEA regulations affect patient care when admittedly the prior treatment was appropriate. These pain docs assume every patient is a drug seeker no matter what supporting documentation they have. He did not do a physical exam either but was happy to collect my money. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone for pain help. His staff was pleasant so they get an A+

I am a 65 yr old male suffering from joint, spinal, neck, nerve, headache & severe migraines, due to sport accidents, arthritis and extremely severe Fibromyalgia complicated by a benign pituitary tumor. My fibromyalgia is severe enough to cause me to be federally listed as a completely disabled individual. I'm bone on bone in both knees & I'm one of a handful of Mayo Clinic Patients with severe enough medical conditions such that I have 2 patient numbers. In the last 30 years I've been a patient at one time or another of more than 60 Specialist Doctors & Surgeons. Currently I have about 10. Most of my previous doctors would end up saying my case was too complex or risky for them to continue to see me, but not Dr. Vu. Some of these reviews say he's too expensive. I'm on Medicare alone & I tend to have spinal procedures about every six weeks under full sedation. My copays for each is $40 medicare picks up the rest including the sedation! I am on several Controlled Medications for… additional relief, but Dr. Vu carefully manages them thru urine & rarely blood tests to make sure my medications are being well tolerated & legal. There is no other singularly important Physician that is so completely essential to my care & well being.

This office is only about money. I had one visit and I didn't get a procedure done and was then forced to see a Np. The nurse practitioner canceled my appointment. I went camping and my script was lost two days before it was due. I have proof. They stated it Doesn't matter and dismissed me as a patient. I also manage medical offices so I know first hand what they are doing is wrong. Stay away. Stay far away. Dr Vu is known for this behavior.

dr. vu is great but you will get billed for out of network services even though they say not. I was billed 1400$for lab work from 2015 after three years seeing dr. vu. office says yea. sorry.

Horrible doctor who dismisses your pain. Will not be coming back.

I have been a patient of Dr. Vu for years. I have always been treated with respect by him and all ofthe staff. He has been very helpful and answers any questions I have.

Office staff very courteous and professional

After three years I was dismissed suddenly and provided zero care to transition to a new dr. My urine test came back clean and their reasoning was inconsistent urinalysis. I have to add that on numerous occasions when I had their urinalysis tests there were urine samples left in the restroom by previous patients. I have to wonder how they keep them separate, as their process is unlike any other I've seen. I've been disabled since Nineteen years of age and on pain management for 17 years. This is the first time I had such a bad experience with a Specialist. Their contract states if dismissed, they provide 30-60 days care (can't remember which) so the patient can transition and emergency care after that time period. They refused to give me an appointment and provided zero care for me. They wouldn't even return calls. Zero professionalism!

In the hustle to see more patients the old timers no longer get to see Dr. Vu. We only see his nurse. That's very tragic. I'm now looking for a new doctor that will actually see me face to face to face. I feel like this office has gotten too big and now the wonderful doctor that saved my life no longer cares if I die in his office. I should have seen this coming but I expected more from him. My health is secondary to the almighty dollar it appears. I'd gladly pay more if that meant I could see my Dr. not just his busy nurse. All good things come to an end. It was very to know you. You'll be missed greatly.
