Dr. Jon Mathias Wingert, MD

Caution, Jon Wingert MD is a primary care physician with poor communication skills and questionable medical judgment. He fails to supply a holistic treatment plan that integrates informed advice about both physical and mental health. At intake, he became visibly alarmist at the mere mention of my psych diagnosis, about which he seemed to know little when I questioned him. At a follow-up appointment, my main concern was constipation, bloating, nausea, and indigestion due to diabetes and possibly gastroparesis. Oddly enough, he failed to order any necessary tests whatsoever. Instead, in a careless and curt manner, he handed me a slip of paper with the brandname of a new expensive drug for "irritable bowel syndrome" without explanation. I followed his instructions, but the prescription only made the bloating worse. Simply put, a careless PCP in an negligent rush. Find another experienced general practitioner elsewhere in South Dakota.
